Don't worry guys, you're still young and have a few years yet before you have to worry about college. Just do the best you can while you're in High School, and enjoy your summer vacations
If you are worried about paying for college, you can get student loans and grants to pay for it. As long as you do your homework, work hard, and go to class, you'll do fine in college. But it's alot of work, and you have to be prepared to make alot of sacrifices for your career.
As for disappointments, my top one has to be not making it through engineering school. I was a straight-A student my whole life and had a 3.5+ GPA all the way through HS and Jr. college. I thought I was set, and in 4 years I'd be driving a new Corvette and living the good life. Well, as soon as I got to the big universities, I found myself having to struggle with balancing a social life (which I've never had outside of college), being on my own, and nearly 4 times the workload I encountered in Jr. college. After just a year and a half and 2 different schools, I had to quit. That was the most painful time ever in my life. My dreams of buildng hotrods were shattred, my hope all but gone. It still hurts to this day, knowing that the only reason why I'm not out driving around in a new Mustang GT is because I was too lazy to do my homework. I wonder to this very day if I'll ever be able to have a place of my own, or a new car. I just pray that with my new job, that God has opened the door of opportunity.
