How did y'all find CAA?

Postby agasfas » Sun Oct 03, 2004 10:34 pm

I am curious, how did everyone find out about CAA? I mean did someone tell you about it, did anyone just accidently stumble upon it or was it something totally different?

"The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things... hey... the good things don't always soften the bad things; but vice-versa the bad things don't necessarily spoil the good things and make them unimportant." -11th Doctor

"The advice I like to give young artists, or really anybody who’ll listen to me, is not to wait around for inspiration. Inspiration is for amateurs; the rest of us just show up and get to work. If you wait around for the clouds to part and a bolt of lightning to strike you in the brain, you are not going to make an awful lot of work. All the best ideas come out of the process; they come out of the work itself. Things occur to you. If you’re sitting around trying to dream up a great art idea, you can sit there a long time before anything happens. But if you just get to work, something will occur to you and something else will occur to you and something else that you reject will push you in another direction. Inspiration is absolutely unnecessary and somehow deceptive. You feel like you need this great idea before you can get down to work, and I find that’s almost never the case." - Chuck Close

I had been lurking about different forums, trying to find the right one for me.

One day I stumbled here, and here I stayed.

I’m quite happy with my current residence actually. ^_^
Depend on it. God's work done in God's way will never lack God's supply. He is too wise a God to frustrate His purposes for lack of funds, and He can just as easily supply them ahead of time as afterwards, and He much prefers doing so.
- J. Hudson Taylor
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times." It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach. He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

I heard about it from blueraven. She used to go to school with me and she had the bag that CAA sells and she kept telling me I should check it out. ^_^ I did and here I am.

This guy I know named Dave told some of my friends about it and I decided to check it out. It seemed cool and I've been here since. This was back in like February. This was one of the few message boards where I didn't lurk for about a month before I started posting. I actually jumped right in with this one.

It was a matter of "christian anime" on Google, and then a fair amount of time of observing before I decided I wanted to become seriously involved. Quite a number of different "coincidences" made my joining possible, and if I ever accomplish anything professional here, I will have an interesting story to tell.

I think i was doing a search on MSN groups for Christian Anime, and it brought up the link for this site when it was on there and it redirected me here... I was praying about it too, looking for a site with other anime lovers who are believers.

Heart of Sword told me about it a couple of months ago.... but I totally forgot about it. Then I typed in on google "Christian anime reviews". I've been hooked ever since and sorta wish I'd've checked it out sooner.

Wow, fantastic! I'm glad to hear we got the message out---I remember Rev. Doc telling us about Animazement and how he wanted to bring some flyers there, so I'm glad to hear we actually had someone join because of it! Especially since I'm going to be at Oni-Con here in Houston soon, and was debating about whether or not to bring some flyers.

I was looking for an anime related site that sold webhosting for a domain that I wanted to buy. I had typed in "web hosting + anime" and as I sifted through the results I saw a find that brought tears of joy to my eyes: CAA: Christian Anime Alliance. And the rest is history!

Our Generation is in a spiritual warfare between Believers and Satan.

Pro-Life Youth Pledge

We are a loud and determined voice for Truth and Life in this culture of death. We stand on the truth of Jesus Christ whom all of our strength comes from. We stand for the protection of all human life from conception (fertilization) until natural death, with no exceptions, no compromise, and no apologies. We are fed up with the lies that MTV, Planned Parenthood and our government are pushing down our throats. We will no longer sit silently by as our generation is being systematically slaughtered through surgical and chemical abortion. This is OUR generation, these are OUR brothers and sisters and we commit to fighting for their lives. I googled Escaflowne of all things and found the review here at CAA. When I saw those wonderful words "Christian Anime Alliance" I thought, "They have one of those?" I was pretty excited and told my brother about it. He joined that day and I followed. Now I spend way too much time here and love every minute of it!
