Is Dungeons and Dragons evil?

Yeah I don't see any real problem with D&D I don't play it but two of my closest friends do (and they're really strong Christians) I do however play starwars RPG I have the burliest roughest toughest ewok you'll ever meet, he can beat up your wookie...and I'm not kidding either ^__^ but yeah I remember the first time I saw 8-bit D&D that was just hilarious "I wanna cast magic missile"

This topic is almost as pointless as having william hung as your wedding singer.

Somebody had a question that they needed answered. You may think that the answer is obvious, but not everyone does (hence someone started a thread asking about D&D).

While I think what you are saying about CC's is true, I would like to point out that CC are designed to put people in to debt. Only when their card holders maintain a balance (or debt) on their card, do the CC companies really make a profit.

CC Companys know this and encourage people to spend more then they would normaly be able, with the idea that you will not have to pay for it all at once. While you make your min payments, the CC company is killing your wallet with interest fees.

That's not entirely true. I know, I'm still off topic, but Credit Card companies make most of their money off of transactions, not interest on user accounts. Credit Card companies charge retailers between 1.5% to as much as 5% of the purchase price as a fee for service. As a customer, you don't see this charge, you still only pay the price of the item you bought. This is why some retailers refuse credit cards (or add a surcharge to the price) and certain cards who charge higher %'s (like Discover) are less popular than others (like Visa and Master Card, which are accepted just about everywhere).

Credit Cards themselves are useful tools when you don't have the cash (or don't want to carry a lot of cash on you). The problem occurs when the tool is abused, which, unfortunately in this case, is all too easy to do.

And for the record, I don't think my refrigerator is evil, but I'm pretty sure my closet is.

What drives me crazy are these christians who prejudge Harry Potter, Pokemon, and D&D then try to paint it to be evil. Wether or not it creates distance in your relationship with God is one thing, but to say it's all-out satanic and evil when it isn't is a sin act in it's self.

D&D is only as evil as people play it. If you are playing with responsible people then it's ok.


On a further note, many Christians hate HP just because the hero is a wizard. Lord of the Rings was written by a Christian and has many, many, many, christian symbolism. We see Gandalf, a wizard, a character fighting for good. Tolkien never said, "Let's all become pagans like gandalf." All he was doing was telling a good story with strong christian symbolism.

Even Harry Potter has Christian symbolism. Yes! Can you believe it? Harry's patronus is a white stag. This was a medieval symbol for christ. This symbol was also used in the Narnia series. Harry's triumph over the dementors basically says that we have to have faith and rely on our savior.

Anyway, go have fun with D&D and remember...

I personally Do not think it is evil . It is Just a game! I know lots of kids at my church who are into it!
