This is another case of parents not being involved enough with their children and then freaking out when they do something weird. Parents let TV raise their children and then wonder why they don't grow up to wear suits all the time and listen to nothing but Beethoven. The bottom line is this, parents: TEACH YOUR CHILDREN, KNOW YOUR CHILDREN. "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." (Prov. 22:6) You don't have to worry about having satanic children if you guide them towards what is right and know their particular fears, desires, hopes, and loves.

I would say that I have five myself. Am I also goth because I am pale, and like medieval weapons? It would be the same as labeling me a potential murdering because of the above quirks in my behavior. I also have a strange, slight purple discoloring under my eyes which came from rubbing my eyes too much as a kid. A perpetual bruising I guess. Does these things make me need to be institutionalized?

Saying that list is just a list of behaviors of "bad kids" is some what true, but that doesn't mean it's not an equally good list of typical gothic behavior. I know parents who are good parents, but they were parents who just thought their kids were moody or just going through one of those "rebellious" stages that they themselves went through. Furthermore, one of the best mothers I know had a daughter who tried to commit suicide. Having rebellious children does not mean you are a bad parent. I sorta fail to see where this test would be for parents who want to "point the finger at something for their children's behavior." I mean, understand your child's mental state is the beginning of beind able to help them, isn't it.

I don't know. But I'm sure teh person who invented this test was well-meaning, wether it is used for good or evil.

Oh sorry if I came across as harsh there I tend to do that in a discussion.

I'm saying a good chunk of those questions, which I gave examples of, have nothing to do with "Gothdom" or anything that you can point a finger at. I'm talking about how these people just need something anything to blame even breakfast foods and cable television.

I never said that having rebellious children means your a bad parent. Most kids are like that to their parents. But if little Billy talks back to his mom and dad, and just happens to wear black clothing doesn't mean it's the new Goth movement turning him into satan's little helper.

I don't even think we need to mention the blood drinking, self mutiliation, speaking in the tongues of pagan gods stuff. Any parent in their right mind would know that something like that is a pretty clear sign your kid's in need of some serious immediate help.

So basically, according to those that made this quiz, almost everyone has been at least somewhat "goth" at some point in there lives, or so that's what it looks like... right. I agree that some of these are indicators that a problem is present though.

Then there's the fact that alot of times goths are not Satan worshipers, though some may end up proceeding to that. Alot of goths just use the style of dress to express themselves much like some people do through art, writing, even sports. Sometimes this is also a sign of depression, I've heard many stories of small children coming from a broken home or struggling with the divorce of parents who have turned to self mutilation. As a matter of fact... I once knew one. This is not neccesarily a sign of the occult, but help should be sought anyways if this symptom is discovered. It could be a sign of severe depression.

To respond to what Golden Griff asked: Being goth isn't a bad thing, it's often labled that for sure fact that goths are don't conform to what everyone else says is good. The common populace is generaly disturbed by "goths" because they're different. There are goth Christians out there, one of my closest friends is. Goth is a style, a steryotype as well. It's not at all what that quiz was making it out to be. Hoped that helped. ^ ^;

I agree with Vash is a plant. Goth's aren't necessarily evil...my gosh. I wear black clothing, c'mon! I'm getting a black overcloak/trenchcoat thing (And a white one, like Aoshi's X}) and I'm not Gothic...at the Bible camp, some little kid said I was and...well, he apologized later, heh heh.

To add to what Vash and Destroyer said (I can't believe this just came to mind): I went to a big FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) ralley about a year back with a couple of my friends. There was food and some games, and then there was a big worship concert at the end. We had gotten our food later than most of the other people, so when we got into the auditorium, a lot of the seats were taken. We ended up sitting behind a group of guys (maybe 17 or 18) who were in full goth regale: black shirts with safety pins, black cargo pants with chains attached, and heavy black eyeliner and black lipstick. We were a bit wary at first (admittedly, who wouldn't be?) but when the music started and we all started singing, they were completely into it. It was amazing~ ^^ A good reminder that you shouldn't judge people by their outer appearances - goth or not you can still be 100% for the Lord.
