Felines in all their forms

Horses

Animals in general

Weird, mythic animals

The ability to make up weird mythic animals/the weird drawings that I do

Being creative

The written word

Sonoran-style Mexican food

Horchata (Mexican rice drink)

Iced Tea

My Vash cosplay coat (though I don't get to use it much)

Good Fantasy and Sci Fi stories that make me think.

Stories of aching beauty.. you know, stories of tragedy and courage, things so beautiful they make you cry and your heart ache, but the crying feels wonderful at the same time. I'm thinking along the lines of "Haibane Renmei" and "The Lord of the Rings". Heehee.

Anime that portrays the above.

Anime that is goofy spazzy happy.

Anime that has elements of both!

Manga, see above.

Certain artistic style elements of anime and manga.

Rain

Saguaro cacti

Wild Mexican Golden Poppies (and wildflowers in general).

Quartz rocks

Animal skulls

Cool action figures

People who renew my faith that humanity ISN'T made up of only self-seeking people who do note care about anyone else.
"We will never give up and despair, for we are on a mission from God." __ Hellsing, Vol. 2.

I like to write poems and I also have just discovered that I like to take excerpts from my poetry. So, here's an excerpt from a poem that tells about things I like. (Note: in this particular poem, I like to rhyme and I like to mess up the meter when rhyming  )

*ahem*

I like:
the chills you get on your spine when the heater-heat sleeps on your back,
doing something right and not getting flack,
the little marshmallows in Lucky Charms,
having a clock with two wake-up alarms,
the nearly distant smell of tiny moth balls,
empty high school with fun-to-run halls,
drawing silly smilies when you’re bored in class,
dropping a glass and catching it real fast,
the word seek puzzle with a topic you love,
the wonder at how a pen does what it does,
admiring a cat as it climbs up a tree,
accusing Colonel Mustard when Clue has 3,
getting kinged twice when checkers has 2,
drawing one card at a time when solitaire has you,
loving blue,
hearing “I love you."

*end the poetry mode*

Now I also tend to like to end my posts to threads with a big "thumbs-up." So...

Um, I like summer because I'm free from the Black book (a.k.a biology).

I like Christmas, for the same reason as the "I Like Summer" statement. But more importantnly, I am thrilled by the joy of buying presents for the people I love the most.

I love good friends. That one need no reasons or further explanation.

And Bob, I love your Sound of Music satire. Priceless.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

The scientific method," Thomas Henry Huxley once wrote, "is nothing but the normal working of the human mind." That is to say, when the mind is working; that is to say further, when it is engaged in corrrecting its mistakes. Taking this point of view, we may conclude that science is not physics, biology, or chemistry—is not even a "subject"—but a moral imperative drawn from a larger narrative whose purpose is to give perspective, balance, and humility to learning.
