As I Get Older

Postby mitsuki lover » Tue Dec 13, 2005 12:42 pm

These are thoughts, ruminations, musings or what have you that I have on getting closer to the half century mark.So here goes:
As I get older I find that:
1.I tend to get more liberal in my theology and politics.
2.It's easier for me to forget things.
3.I no longer look down and what I think are 'childish' things such as reading comic books, manga or watching 'toons and anime but on the other hand find that I enjoy them immensely.
4.It gets harder to concentrate and as a result any movie over 2 hours or any book over 300 pages becomes harder for me to enjoy.
5.I am hopefully mellowing out, however my Celtic temper is still too much present(those of who with Celtic ancestry know what I mean).
6.It becomes more likely that the woman I marry will be at least 20-25
years younger than me.
7.I am less likely to win the lottery.

I find as I am older. Alot of my friends that I knew when I was younger now stand at the throne of God or have their own lives and families and live farther away than when I was young and some I lost contact with them.

I find that I want to know my God. . . SO much more than I have as I realize I hardly even know Him at all. And that the call He's placed on my life begins to pull at me more an more. . . . it's amazing really, for somone like me who's fallen quite alot. . . that I'm still forgiven like it never happened and allways find myself being held by the One person who's been true to His word that He'd never leave me nor forsake me, and that He'd allways be "God with us." that He chose over everything in this WORLD, and in the heaven's above to be with us, and to share our dreams, and use them for His glory while at the same time keeping our bloated heads from making us float out of reality when we suceed XD

AHHH! i went off topic! <_<;; sorry! But that's what I come to realize more the older I get, and I'm only 14 so I have a LOOOOOOONG ways to go XD sorry for rambling ^_^

God bless,
A verry RARE post from Archy.

That's different. The classic theory is that we become more conservative in our elder years. I suppose there are always exceptions.

As I get older...
1) the people I've known so well have changed so much
2) society annoys me more
3) the more I think I know about something, the more I find out I have only scratched the surface
4) the more philosophical I become
5) I realize the world is much different then I've once imagined
6) the more my birthday just feels like another day (none important) and holidays don't have the same feeling they once had
7) the more I realize that being inside all day is a waste...
8) the more I appreciate the small things in life
9) the more I appreciate what the Lord has given me.

As I get older,

I learn that the foods that you loved as a kid, are no longer good for you, when you are an adult.

I learn the bones that you broke by doing dumb things as a kid. That you will pay the price after you get older, because your body will show you alot of hate for what you did as a child.
