Otaku Milestones

Postby AngelSakura » Tue Oct 12, 2004 4:24 pm

This is for posting your otaku milestones. You know, major events that have shaped your...otaku-ness. Here's a couple of mine.

I remember when I first picked up Trigun manga. I had read something in Anime Insider involving a joke on Vash's hair about two weeks previous, and remembered thinking it looked vaugely cool. It said 12 and up on the back. I told my brother he could not read it. ^^;;;

I remember recieving the first FLCL OST in the mail from CDJapan. We wasted ten minutes attempting to remember where the songs went in the series, failing misrablely. I wouldn't let anybody near it, because it was an import.

I remember...okay, I don't remember when I first saw Nicholas. So sue me.
Think happy thoughts.

oh oh me next! My first anime was oh geez when I was really little around 4 or 5 because I remember waking up early to watch Ronin Warriors before going to Daycare and then Samurai Pizza Cats like a year afterwards but then sadly my inner otaku went dormant for many years until I saw the shiny gundams on Gundam Wing and since then my anime DVDs have gone from 0 to 45 in a matter of a couple of years, I know not many but hey when you don't have a job that's alot and they're still growing, and also when I bought Operations 1-4 Gundam Wing Soundtracks all at the same time I think I've just about burned them out!

I saw my first episode of Gundam Wing almost 5 years ago now - that was what got me hooked on "non-kiddy" anime. A year later I got my first Tenchi manga. A while after that I got into X/1999 and DNAngel (the first manga I read in Japanese). XD And it was aaalll downhill from there.

I was highly into DBZ as a kid until I wasn't allowed to watch it anymore, and then it didn't come on for a while anyway. YEARS later it came back on and me and my brother were psyched about it and recalling when we used to watch it.

then Pokemon came out and we watched that until we weren't allowed to watch that anymore. (wah! don't make me explain! LOL)

so anyway, after that, I kept seeing many dif. anime movies and shows and now I'm here. yay.

To serve your turn long after they are gone
And so hold on when there is nothing left in you
Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!' ...you'll be a Man, my son!
