SNK is an acronym of Shin Nihon Kikaku ( moslty known as SNK Playmore). Its a Japanese video game hardware and software company.

They have a lot of fighting games, like Capcom vs. SNK stuff. Those "merger" fighting games are always fun. =)

They had their own fighting franchise that back in the early/mid 90s was a strong competitor for Capcom's venerable Street Fighter. Usually the guys who hate popular stuff because it's popular will side with SNK. Not saying they didn't make fantastic games. They did, honestly. I preferred them for their character design which was very cool. They made the famous Samurai Showdown series as well as a line of very tight, if poorly marketed, consoles and handhelds.

I have in the past, but not anymore. I do prefer SNK's characters to Capcom's, though Capcom has Jin Saotome (which is one of the coolest game characters ever!)

I just got a Neogeo Pocket Color in ocean blue not too long ago...and MAN was that system ahead of its time!

I must say, even though CapCom was my first love of the fighting game franchise, I would have to agree that SNK has more creativity when it comes to their characters.
That being said however, both games of theirs I bought last were letdowns (SNK vs CapCom: SVC Chaos and NeoGeo Battle Coliseum).
