Lord of the Consoles

Postby Azier the Swordsman » Wed Jun 09, 2004 4:52 pm

Once upon a time: Genesis of the Fourth Age of Gaming: There were two game consoles created. One: Aimed at the hardcore gamers, the ones seeking the sequels to their favorite PSOne games. The second system, the Gamecube, was aimed at the gamers who longed for the mordern sequels to the old games of yore: Mario, Zelda, Metroid, among others. But they were all decieved, for another console was made: In the evil coperation known as Microsoft, in the unholy fires of Bill Gates' eternal Dark Realm, the console known as the Xbox was formed. The Xbox's evil purpose was to be a Master System; one console to rule them all. Horrified by this new evil, all the Sony Gamers and the Nintendo Gamers gathered at the dark land of Microsoft and fought against the evil force of the Xbox. Victory seemed to be at hand.... until the Xbox unvieled a secret unholy weapon: A Halo.... One Game to Rule Them All..... Such was they enticing power of the Halo that the Gamers began to fall at the mighty power of the Halo. But there was one man who was able to resist the evil power.... Shigeru Miyamoto took up his sword and fought against the evil force for an hour and half an hour. But the power of the Halo prevailed... Shigeru was struck down and slain. His son, Mario, horrified, took up his father's sword and sliced the Halo off the Xbox's unholy green head. Without the power of the Halo, the Xbox disintegrated into a pile of unholy ashes. Victory had been won! Peace rained over the gaming community once again! And everybody lived happily ever after. Mama Mia!

Marvelous. That's just about the funniest thing I've read in quite a while.

Healing hands of God have mercy on our unclean souls
once again. Jesus Christ, Light of the World, burning
bright within our hearts forever. Freedom means love
without condition, without beginning or an end. Here's
my heart, let it be forever Yours, only You can make
every new day seem so new.

A splitting brow forced by the thorns
His face is writhing with the pain yet it's comforting to me

Kinda witty and somewhat funny, but I still think Xbox will churn out mighty fine games that will give the Gamecube and PS2 a run for their money. I have no problem, because when Sony is by themselves in the market--things are boring, I hate monopolist. So more competition means a higher demand for more games, it only benefits us all.

It won't benefit me when the good games start coming out and I have to finally shell out several paychecks for one. :P

The Xbox could end up going the way of Sega, all they really need is a good mascot and a good game idea.

I think its Nintendo thats going the way of Sega at this point unfortunately.......all they really have going for them anymore is the GBA SP and the 800+ pokemon games they keep churning out to feed the kiddies pika-crack addiction.

It seems their target market is gamers between the ages of 6-14 and it's kinda killing them (since its the mature gamers that got the jobs). They only have a few original games.....(the rest are ports from other systems and turn out pretty crappy) and 95% of the originals are sequels of series stuff they've been doing since the 8bit days....Zelda/Mario/Metriod ect.

no online play, no built in dvd, ectect.....i'm hoping they're next system keeps up with technology a bit better.....

i miss sega =(

they were always ahead of their time.

by the way....no offense to anyone who digs nintendo......i'm just biased cause of my job....

but yah...i agree......xbox needs a mascot

maybe a pentium 3 chip?
