I didn't see anything in the archives about this game, and despite its relative age it's a pretty awesome game IMO. There's a few points about it I like:

-Characters: everyone is very well designed (elf eaaaaaars!) and they fit their "personas" to a T.

-Designs: Levels easy to navigate and look fantastic. I remember my jaw dropping in the underwater level. Also, the day and night sensations...it's like playing Pikmin with no clock and no mad dash at night.

- NO LIFE COUNT! I cannot stress to you enough how great this is. For once, I the most horrible gamer in the world can actually attempt something several times and not hear "game over". Makes it very, very user-friendly to me.

The thing that bugged me is it was hard to get a handle on what different items did or what you were supposed to do right away, but the objective menu is a nice feature. Also, you ended up getting several objectives in different areas if you weren't careful. But, all in all, I loved this game. Anyone else a fan?

I thought it was okay... I just didn't find any thing special about it. I guess it really reminded me of the Donkey Kong country games.

It was a fun platformer. A tad on the short side perhaps. It's pretty cheap now.

Heh.
I enjoyed that aspect as well actually. Not having to start the whole level/world over after several attempts at something a ways into it did feel like a breath of fresh air.

Yeah it was short, but that's ok, I really prefer shorter games. I am not the experienced 50+ hour RPG fan around here. I get tired too easily. Short games I can play when I have time and get through with quickly. I guess I'm just a platformer girl at heart, really. I like the straightforward "collect these" objectives, and the interesting little mini-games they sneak in. I prefer that to the "walk around and talk to everyone til you happen to meet the right one and move on" aspect of RPGs.

I saw an article about Jak II in GameInformer (magazine I happen to get) and it looked really incredible. I look forward to it. ^^

Jak II improves on the problems of the first, which honestly didn't have many. I liked it though, and it had varied gameplay...I also suggest Ratchet and Clank that is bar none one of the best platformesr I've played in recent memory.

I haven't seen a game with a life count for quite a while. Jak & Daxter: TPL really is a great game, though. I like how there are no particularly designated Save Points (you can save anywhere and pick it up almost right at that spot) and the Respawn Points are frequent (that's one of the very few drawbacks in Ratchet & Clank; the Respawn points are too few and far between). Oh yeah, and one more cool thing about J&D: Dee. Snyder.
I WANNA ROCK!!!

J&D was really easy to me...the hardest part was getting certain Orbs...or...the things you have to collect. Ah! Power cells! There were about 3-4 that were a pain to get. Namely, hitting a switch one place and leaving that level and getting to another in a short amount of time. That was annoying. A good game all in all, not to mention I won it off Toonami. ;) Those contests are hoaxes after all!
