Did you abondond Video games?

Postby DragonSlayer » Mon May 10, 2004 6:46 pm

I used to be VG freak, A couple of years ago, And no I have never done this since and will never do it again, I sat on my couch in my room and played FF8 for about two weeks of summer....Yes pathetic and sad, And about a year ago I simply stopped playing video games altogether. I almsot never play them, I used be extremely excited wehn I'd ehar about teh new zelda comeing out or the new final Fantasy, but now, bluntly I could care less. Which leads me to wonder, why...me, Renound(Im not jokeing)VG FREAK all across my schools simply lost all intrest completley in VideoGames, this ever happened to any of you?

I love to play video games, but I get into it to much. It puts me into a fantasy mindset, draws me away from God, and nothing ever gets done.
So I sold my playstation, got rid of my computer games, and I don't intend to ever buy any again.

Nah, I'll end up being the kooky old man who still plays Nintendo games... and..... age will probably cause me to play slower paced games.

I dont play video games that much, but I try different games just for fun - so I know what are what... there are some games I play more than other, but mostly I dont play...

Its a scary thought, but some people actually do "outgrow" or simply get tired of games. I dont know how it happens, but I certainly hope medical science comes up with a cure for it before we have an epidemic on our hands.

Seriously though. I will probably be the old guy sharing the room with LinkAntilles at the nursing home. Though since I have so many bills (car, house, insurance, ect.) it definately limits my personal entertainment budget. I can almost never buy a new game, and often I have to decide between games and anime. I just dont have enough cash for both.
Depend on it. God's work done in God's way will never lack God's supply. He is too wise a God to frustrate His purposes for lack of funds, and He can just as easily supply them ahead of time as afterwards, and He much prefers doing so.

I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times." It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach. He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

I still play games, just not as much like the way I did before. My PC just can't really conjure up the will power to process the higher-end 3D games, so that eliminates me from a huge sector. Secondly, even though I love all three consoles out right now, none offer games that are on par with the classics. Seriously I'll take Final Fantasy VI, Chrono Trigger, Metal Gear Solid, Super Metroid, Dragon Force, Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, and Castlevania Symphony of the Night before I go down with Metal Gear 2, Gran Theft Auto, Splinter Cell, Final Fantasy X, Dark Cloud 2, Planetside and newer Tony Hawk titles.

Two words: Neh Vah! The "gaming is for kids" and "better things to do" rhetoric doesn't hold up against all the other timewasters that mature adults have, so I'll be gaming until I die

Who said gaming is for kids

Postby DragonSlayer » Wed May 12, 2004 6:10 pm

Gameing is for kids, bah! Wonder who said that?(Seriously) Gameing is way fun! I jsut dont play them anymore, When a game like Halo 2 comes out, that I will be getting, or Ninja Gaiden, yea! but still I'll beat those maybe twice and tehn pay them no heed for a very long time.

ABANDON VIDEO GAMES? Are you clinically INSANE?!

There's no way I could. Plus, that would severely cut back on my online time, because three of the boards I'm on are VG related.

I doubt that I will ever give up video games (I'll probably give up anime before I give up video games). Then again, thanks to toonami moving to Saturdays, I haven't seen much anime lately. :(

I actually have two PS2 games that I have never played (Armored Core 3, and the surprisingly fun WWF Smackdown! Here Comes the Pain) due to a lack of time and interest. I would play them now, but that would require unpacking my PS2 from the trunk I put it in before I left school.

I think a more likely scenario is that my tastes will change over time. As it gets harder to meet with people regularly, I might invest more in online games (like the upcoming World of Warcraft for the PC). I have also taken an interest in wargames, particularly Warhammer 40,000.
