So I was hearing screwattack's top ten best video game theme songs ever and I thought hey I should ask everyone what's thier top 10 favorite theme songs. Sadly, i'm in the list of still deciding my own but for sure these are in it.

Earthbound — primary boss music

Final Fantasy 7 — I'm not sure what the song is called, but I know which one it is.
Eternal Darkness — the music in that place underneath the desert. It also plays for the end credits.
Mech Warrior 2 — one of the battle themes--I know it's the first one on the disc
Cave Story — Gestation, Moonsong, all the boss battle songs, everything else
Wild Arms — main theme and others
Resident Evil 4 — the creepy castle music

That's more than ten, and it's only what I've thought of so far. I'm sure there are many others.

I don't know what I would put on my top 10, but two songs that would be on there would be Godot's theme: Fragrance of Dark Coffee, from Phoenix Wright Trials and Tribulations and the opening theme from Final Fantasy VI, I don't actually remember the name to it though. >.>;;

That said, and to make a post that is not horribly off-topic, "Scars of Time" from Chrono Cross and "Frog's Theme" from Chrono Trigger are both incredible. In fact, the entire soundtracks from those games are amazing. XD Also, I adore "Eyes on Me" from Final Fantasy VIII.

Eyes on me still makes me tear up. I've been working on Jen to let me play that at our reception. There was a girl when I was running Karaoke who would come in and sing that every year. the Opera from FF6 as well.

I actually think Green Hill Zone is a little overrated. Don't get me wrong, it's a great song and extremely catchy, but I always felt that Scrap Brain Zone's theme and Spring Yard Zone's where much better, but that's just my opinion.

Speaking of 'Scars of Time' and 'Frog's Theme', I would say Mitsuda did an equally incredible job with the soundtrack of Xenogears. 'Emotions', 'Flight', 'Wings', 'The Yggdrasil Theme', 'Small Two of Pieces'... really, the whole soundtrack is just full of gems.

That is one game I would recommend 100% if you've never played it. Created by predominately the same team behind Chrono Cross and easily one of my favorite games of all time.

1: My absolute all time favorite is probably either the main theme or the field theme for Legend of Zelda... So hard to choose.
2: Midnas lament is in close second. Call me crazy if you like but any music that sounds sorta epic... i like.
3: In third is all the other LoZ music =P
4: On the route to snowpoint city in pokemon diamond there is a pretty incredible song that i love.
5: The SSBB main theme WAS awesome... Till my little bro started playing it obsessively and i heard it way too much.
6: In Mario galaxy the theme in the star ship observatory and the one in the gate are both pretty awesome.
7: *Is still dancing whenever Mona pizza and Mikes song come on in brawl*
8: The souped up version of Kid Icarus's music in brawl was pretty sweet

In classic stuff, pretty much any of the classic megaman or Zelda themes will bring a nostalgic tear to my eye. For the newer stuff, I'm a fan of the scores for the Halo franchise as well as Gears of War. Blue Dragon had a good feel to it as well, recalling in some instances the themes from PS1 era Final Fantasy games or earlier (Gee, I wonder why that is? XD ).
