I don't know if Crystal Chronicls is Canon FF... Besides, you didn't mention the SNES and NES games... 1, 2 (4 in Japan), and 3 (6 in Japan)

I guess you covered 1-6 originals when you said "imports" but... Whatever... I want to get them all, including imports... I'll do that when I go to Japan... In that massive Video Game store I saw on TechTV.

I'm more of a casual RPG'er, so although I've played some Final Fantasy stuff as well as other series, the only Final Fantasy game I have is FF Chronicles. And that's not even mine, really. I'm borrowing it from a friend. I've had it for months now, I should really give it back.
Just one thing bugs me about Chronicles' FF4, though: the village of Mysidia is populated mainly by mages. So magic is pretty much the core of their society, right? So why in monkey-poo doesn't the Mysidia item shop sell Ether? I'm dangerously low on that stuff!

I don't own any FF games currently, but those I've owned in the past include:

Final Fantasy (8-Bit NES)
FF2 (US, SNES)
FF3 (US, SNES)
FF Mystic Quest (US, SNES)
FF Legend (Game Boy)
FF Legend 2 (Game Boy)
FF Legend 3 (Game Boy)
FF Adventure (Game Boy)

Basically, every FF game put out on the Nintendo systems. I haven't even played anything FF since then.

LOL! That's true. I never thought of that...

Am I the only one of a few here who has Origins? The job that Square did remaking FF1 & 2 was marvelous and definitely worth checking out. (I think someone already started a thread about it a while ago.)

ORIGINS!!! YAAAA!!!! Maybe they could have made the battle system in 3d, but oh well. still nice with movies.

Say, does Final Fantasy Legend (SaGa) and Final Fantasy Adventure (Seiken Densetsu) count as FFs?

Yeah, origins is great... Seeing FF2 in Super Nintendo quality visuals, that's nice! FF2 elliminated "leveling up" long before FF8 came around! I was giddy about the expanded story (I was used to it emulated from Famicom) and all the new scenes... It's a great game!

Now we just need FF3 re-released... GBA, perhaps! I need a chance to fly that jumping ship again, and maybe not get lost in the mountains this time...

I don't count Seiken Densetsu, because the FF name was only tacked onto it to sell better. I don't count Saga for the same reason... Saga is Saga...

Speaking of Saga, I wish they'd re-release the "Romancing Saga" arc of games... Romancing Saga 3 was the best in the series... (Super Famicom)

I rented FF3 (SNES) about eight or nine times in a row! I wanted to buy it, but for some reason, both times I found it in Gamestop, I had second thoughts... _-_... Well next time I see it, I'm grabbing it!

Just clearing up that you do know that FF3 in the US on SNES was actually FF6... So numbered because three games were missing from US release: FF2 (Famicom), FF3 (Famicom), FF5 (Super Famicom)

FF6 was re-released in the US with slower loading times, retaining the woolsey translation (grr) with very few exceptions... FF5 was released in the US for playstation as well, with the woolsey translation they would have used for the American game on SNES, but it wasn't released (I have a theory: They only released final fantasy games when there was a graphical improvement over the last game... 4 was improved over 1, but 2 and 3 weren't very improved. 6 is an improvement over 4, but 4 and 5 look about the same...)

Anyhow... I am going to buy the SuperFamicom FF6 when I go to Japan... That's my favorite in the series (FF6 was called FF3 in the US on Super Nintendo) I really want to play it in it's original language, without the NOAisms in it...

BTW, the only reason I keep saying this is because new people always show up who may or may not know...

They're well worth beating. Just try to be at level 50 by the end of each game and you'll do fine.

(FFIX is an exeption; be at level 51 because a certain boss in the final area uses an attack called level 5 death which kills any character whose level is a multiple of 5) (I'm 99% sure it is Level 5 Death, could be another number)

hehehe yeah i'm a FF fan and have all (i think) the play station ones, well no X-2 or XI, i really like them all in all it's such a fun series and i love how theres almost no connection between games so you can pick up anywhere in the series but if you have played others theres all sorts of goodies reference wise.
