I guess I shouldn't play WoW either because I have a level 43 Mage and a level 8 Warlock. (Summoning demons is my specialty)

In all seriousness though, I'd say it's fine unless you feel spiritually attacked or something.

Well, the demons are the bad guys in Doom's case.

Besides, Doom 2 isn't that graphic compared to Doom 3. Besides, it's 2D, and like Shao Feng-Li said, the demons are the bad guys. It's more of a mild M.

i'd only really felt disturbed on the hell levels, but other then that i wasn't really bothered.

I play Ultimate Doom and Doom II on my Dreamcast - good games; fun even after all this time.

I still find Doom (for the original Doom engine) still disturbingly gory to this day, even after playing the UT series, Far Cry, F.E.A.R. and SMOD for Half Life 2. Maybe it is because of the fact that Doom, unlike those games, have severed human body parts/portions as decor in the latter third of the game.

I won't comment on Doom 3--it's too dark to be scared by anything.

iD is/was definitely obsessed with disturbing imagery and horror motifs, obviously - I mean, Doom, the original Quake, Hexen, etcetera... That style is no longer as popular as it was in the mid 90s.

As for Doom 3 - no duct tape on Mars, lol!

I would also tie that style/influence to their former lead artist and co-founder, Adrian Carmack, who left id around 2005.

Doom3 was fun. I played it in the dark in the dead of night. What a rush.

But it wore off after a few hours... you get desensatized to the scare factors. At first it's like "OMG Imp! Flaming zombie! aaaah!" Then it becomes "Oh great, another swarm of spiders... Oh look, a chainsaw zombie there."
Effects were awesome for 2005 tho.
