I was browseing through the wii.tv area and they had put a video up about Zelda beeing into futuristic type of design. *Meaning huge towering buildings, motorsycles and that kinda stuff* What they have shown reminds me a bit of a mix beetwen FF7 and Mass effect, here is a screenshot I took.

*this is the link*

What do you think of this? *the picture was not made by me*

Hmmm, it is suspicious, but it almost seems too authentic. I'll reserve excitement for this one I think.

I don't think the nintendo would dare to make a april fool out of this. The game artistic showing looks great, the plot can be awesome, its a total new enviorment alright, still if this was revealed a joke nintendo would face quite a force of angry fans I think.

March 31st in Japan, or in Europe?

Because I'm having a hard time thinking this is legit.

Dunno, its http://www.wii.tv so ask them, the people speaking did speak English.

The whole art thing looks far too nicely developed to be a prank too. Just watch the vidao.

After carefully checking our anonymous source’s references and background, we can confirm this to all be in the works, and we are taking it upon ourselves to show you what we have been fortunate enough to see. It is quite possible that after release of this, we may never see another piece of information again.

I call April Fool's.

You'd be surprised what talented people can do in programs like Maya and Photoshop.

Yup, but at a wii official site? *wii.tv is a official site right?*

However, who or which company would have spent like so much time makeing those structures if they where to be used for a april fool? Closest thing I could think of is the PS3 people trying to make the wii fans angry. Because if it where to become a game then it would be quite awesome me thinks.

Hey, I'd happily put in a good amount of time working on a good April Fool's joke like this, especially one that has the potential to freak so many fanboys out.

EDIT: Also, I don't think wii.tv is an official site. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I am talking like up to 30 professional photoshop pics or more along with 3d sculpting. I would highly doubt nintendo would want to make something looking as brilliant as that into a april joke to make their fans angry.

Uhm... just so you know, if you didn't notice when watching, the video is a compilation of Star Wars concept drawings, and Final Fantasy stills. In some cases, photoshopped together.

I thought about that too, but a wii official speaking of it along with new pics, Zelda at the future ect just seems ridiculs as a april joke, even so with the posted the 31th and such it would make a very bad joke, like saying SSBB got cancled or something similar to that. And I doubt it would be pictures stolen because that would be a huge copyright violation woulden't it? They said it did have a ff7 feel to it, but that is no negative or disprover to this.

I dunno if it is or if it is not a april joke, I know that if it is a april joke then it must be one of the most damageing to the wii community so far.

What "wii official" are you talking about? As far as I could tell, they just got one of the employees of wii.tv to say all those things and then labeled it as "removed from the March podcast". Also, a quick inquiry at whois.net reveals that wii.tv is owned by some employees of gamedaily. Thus, we can determine that it is NOT an official source of news.

Believe if you want, I think that it is pretty clear that this is an April fools joke, and an entertaining one at that.

Damaging how...?

This Nintendo fangirl is quite amused by it. :D

Still don't answer to the art section. If the images where at some way stolen from other people then it would be a very big violation. And beeing posted at the 31 rather than the 1st of april is also a question. As yeah a wii employee who said this I woulg guess then. However I think it is fair to say that the presentation is not a 1 man job. Still, its not fun. It would be more understandable if something bad would have happend instead of something really cool.

I guess time will tell, there is no evidence that either side has got saying this is or is not a april joke. However if it where to not be a april joke then that would have been quite awesome me thinks :)

This reminds me of the "Wind Waker redone with Twilight Princess graphics!" thing from EGM...and how gamers swore up and down it was for real even after being told it was an April Fool's joke.

I will confirm that a lot of the artwork in that video is indeed Star Wars, places such as Nar Shaddaa are obviously shown. Exactly like how Nar Shaddaa is and always has been depicted. A lot of the other works of art are from the Extended Universe books.

And why can't wii.tv do pranks? They aren't official. And EGM does a lot of pranks too. Heck even Capcom of American fell for one of their Streetfighter Pranks, till Capcom of Japan, debunked it for them.

So move along people, it's a total prank.

ROFL, Star Wars fans to the rescue! XD

Anyways, I thought that one guy in the video looked like someone who fell out of FFVIIAC. XD At any rate, I've seen some pretty awful gags from Nintendo in the past, like an article in Nintendo Power on "real" pipe-travel (Mario-style XD), so this doesn't surprise me at all. XD But wouldn't the Zelda fanboys/girls be more freaked out by a future Zelda than excited? I dunno, just my theory. XD

Anyways, yeah, that's definitely April Fool's for you. And the fact that it was posted on the 31st only means the guy wanted to get a jumpstart on it, I think. XD
