"Under the direction of series creator Masahiro Sakurai, Super Smash Bros. Brawl will feature classic, GameCube-style combat -- not Wii-style motion-controlled combat. That means players who prefer to play the game with the traditional control setup can look forward to using the GameCube control-style they're already accustomed to.

"We found that trying to implement too much motion-sensory functionality can get in the way of the game. We're looking at keeping the control simple, as it has been," said Sakurai. "The Wii hardware has sockets for the GameCube controller, too. So I'll just say now that you may not want to throw away your GCN controller yet.""

I'm seriously like... holding back my tears of joy on this. Nintendo has my money, if this is the only game I ever buy for Revolution (which, so far, is the plan)

Dude, what a lineup!! If what I see is true, that means Snake's gonna be in it. I mean, come on! SNAKE!! This game has officially thrown the Wii into my "serious purchase consideration" list.

Well, that and Metroid Prime 3...

...and Twilight Princess (even though there'll be a Gamecube version)

...and Red Steel

Well, Nintendo has officially come out and said that they're allowing 3rd-party characters in...

I wonder if Snake's gonna be using CQC or just that one-two-kick pansy combo...

*shrugs* Whatever. He's in it, and that's all that matters.

I'm not a Nintendo fanboy by any means, but I like this game. I have a couple of issues with it, but I still like the concept. All of the issues can be written off as superficial things, though.

Did anyone else find this picture as funny as I did? Link and Mario both look like they just said, "What!?" Plus, I just love the inclusion of the box xD

Oh my Goodness!!! I'm stoked now! SSBM was one of the greatest Gamecube games (and indeed one of the best last generation consol beat em ups). I hope they keep the current roster but add new characters...and add loooooooooads more unlockable features. Oh boy it's gonna rock...

Concerning snake. I think he is in it showing that Hideo Kojima doesn't have a problem with Nentendo finally closing that gap. And Meta knight is in and well plain and simple the game is gonna rule! I love the box sheild XD

O_O.... I needs it.

I was so excited about Snake being in it, I almost forgot about Meta Knight. He was my favorite boss to fight in Kirby's Adventure back in the day, so I'm as happy as the wigs now that he's included.

What I'm wondering is why that fat guy with the great slapshot from Ice Hockey isn't in the cast...

Ok, now with snake on board, we need heather in her princess heart uniform and Simon Belmont...

What it needs is some FF characters. Cloud, Zidane...Quina would be an interesting one. And I hope they've given Mega Man a thought.

Having said that, I'm always gonna be a Luigi supporter 'breaks pompoms out'

Leon Vs Princess Heart heather... That's the grudge match I'd like to see... Will snake be bringing any Metal Gear related items to the game?

I'm surprised nobody's pointed it out yet, but... I think that the chances that all of the Sega fans' dream of Mario vs. Sonic might come true this time. MAYBE... Hopefully :)

Now all they need is Cloud, Zero (Megaman X version or Megeman Zero version, I don't care), Sonic, Viewtiful Joe, and umm.... I guess that's it. o.o

Maybe it's because I'm a dancer and see a lot of girls in dance wear, but Samus suit didn't really faze me. Overall, I am really, really excited about this newest addition to the series. I had been planning to wait to get a Revolution/Wii until after it had been out a while, but games like this are starting to make me rethink that.

Samus's suit doesn't faze me at all, either. I just think it's cool.

Sonic and Megaman are probably possible.

I doubt we will see any characters that were never on a Nintendo system(EX. Cloud).

The whole point of SSB is to bring together Nintendo game characters. It would lose all meaning if they added characters like Cloud just because they're popular. If the point was purely popularity, they wouldn't have had characters like Ice Climbers and Dr. Mario.

Well yeah. We're only gonna see 3rd party characters from Nintendo consoles... No Masterchief or anything like that (Microsoft would buy their way into that one in a heartbeat if the offer was open). That's why Sonic is a possibility, since he has now officially been on Nintendo systems.

This game looks to be virtually perfect. Metal Gear, Kid Icarus, more Kirby (yay Metaknight), Wario, Zero Suit Samus, all = ^_^ Now we just need some more Fire Emblem (a female character this time), Golden Sun, Wolf Link, Waluigi, Olimar, more 3rd party characters (more 3rd parties will want to jump on the bandwagon after seeing Snake), King Dedede, etc. And no more clones! @_@

Whatever they do, keep Pichu. I don't like playing as Pichu, but plenty of people do. Without Pichu, the game loses some value. ;_:

Eh, I'm probably asking for a little too much.

And the music, awesome music that fits this game greatly, sounds great.

I have so much more I want to type, but I'll end myself now, before I get carried away. =_=;

Yeah ... I cannot explain with words what I was thinking when I heard the MG beep. It was like ... no way! what?! naw, this is a joke! holy cow, it's not! i cannot be seeing this! the box! oh my word!! ... and so forth. As long as Pichu and Zelda are on the roster, I'm happy.

I want Dr. Mario and Marth back... Yeah thats about it.

This game looks pretty cool. My only complaint is that... it doesn't really look any different from the other two save graphics and new characters. I'm hoping Nintendo will make some cool new gameplay features so it doesn't end up as rehash.

Also, it seems kind of unconfident that the creators are thinking about using the traditional GC controllers for this one. I still haven't seen that "shell" Nintendo used to talk about, for the Wiimote. I hope they show it soon, and include it with the Wii package.

i think they dumped the shell idea in favor of this
