My first thought: Well, it was probably inevitable.
Second thought: There will be gamers mad about this.
Third thought: I really want to see that guy throwing the same cute-looking bombs then flopping over and twitching when he dies.

That is more similar to what BM originally looked like on th box art of the original.
BOX ART!
He was his little square self in the game.
Talk about a Halo-Styled makeover.
It could still be fun. You never know.
At least they still got the original gameplay and it`s not a complete FPS.

It could still be fun, but it's not Bomberman.
It would be akin to "reinventing" Mario much like Hudson Soft did to Bomberman. Could be fun, but not Mario.

Man, I've never even played it, and that looks bad.
*imagines a muscle-bound Mario, lean, lanky Luigi, and Godzilla-like Yoshi and gags, then sits back and waits for someone to re-invent Kirby*

Now that you mention it...
I thought this just meant "a Bomberman game is going to be on the XBox OHNOES". Ignorance is truly bliss. After looking at those pictures, my stomach is literally churning. Poor Bomberman...

Yes, I thought "Ironman" as well.

I was gonna say that!

That sums up my thoughts. Being that I don't own an XBOX360 (and probably won't anytime soon), I could care less, really.

The thought of a tie between Samus and MasterCheif. Why? Because I think this entire game is going to have the whole alien element.
BTW, kudos to the Mario joke. You beat be to it.

I did!
Anyway, I've never been the biggest Bomberman fan but this really is horrible. I thought it was a hoax when I first saw it, they're serious?!

Oh please no. That kinda stuff already disturbs me. >_<

Are you referring to the Kirby one or the Bubble Bobble one?
Because that Bubble Bobble one was hilariously disturbing.

I assume the Kirby one, as it actually relates to Kirby. My thoughts were more along the lines of grusome than that, but I'll respect Myoti's wishes to stay away from that. In any case, this is severely off topic. Let's try to keep any future posts related to the new version of Bomberman.

Why couldn't they keep the cuteness? It seems like such a shame that some of the formerly cute video game characters are becoming these massive realistic hulks. Look at the original Bomberman, the old Final Fantasy games, or the Zelda games. Just look at RPGs from Japan in general. They were really cute at one time: cute characters, cute enemies, somtimes serious storylines, but those always had some element of brevity to them. Games seem to just be getting too serious in general. I enjoy Half-Life or Oblivion as much as the next person, but I enjoyed the lightness that used to be common in games. The new Bomberman looks like it has impressive graphics, but it seems to me that it cheapens the game to make it so gritty and realistic.

Indeed. It seems that many are moving towards "better graphics = more realistic = better game", which, as often seen, isn't always true.
Again, it COULD be a good game, but it ain't Bomberman.

[SPOILER]Yes, the BB one was rather disturbing, but I meant the Kirby one (where he ate what I suspected to be a drag queen).
And yes, UC's comment summed up my own thoughts. >.<

That's not Bomberman that's Iron Man meets Samus Aran meets bombs exploding. It's proof that satan exists.

I thought 4Kids proved that...
I need to see some gameplay shots of this. Is it going to play the same as before, if so, it would seem rather... akward. The style looks more like an action/FPS kind, but Bomberman was never in that style. :/

Well, mario WAS reinvented several times... His hair color, costume, and even name have changed a few times over the course of his life...
Then there was Mario 64, which eliminated some important parts of Mario's mechanics (fire flowers and super mushrooms) and that gets carried further and further every time a new mario is released, it seems... So, the only problem with this happening to bomberman is that it happened quickly rather than slowly over time...

Yeah, but Super Mario Sunshine, although it sold well, really wasn't as well loved as Super Mario 64. So I think on the next Mario game we see, it's not going to be so different.
The "dark remakes" as they're called work well for some series, and not for others. It seemed to work well for Zelda...TOO well, in my opinion, because once OoT and MM were out, everyone dissed WW for having cartoonish graphics, forgetting how the previous games in the series were cartoonish.
The difference is Bomberman is a game that has relied on cuteness for much of its appeal. Kinda like Kirby. If you remove that cuteness, you've removed the essence of the game. Could you imagine if Kirby was "reimagined" along the lines of this new Bomberman? It would be horrible. There's a difference between changing elements of gameplay and changing the essence of the game. The former can be beneficial, but the latter is almost always harmful.
