Has anybody but me even heard of the Drakengard games? Drakengard 2 just came yesterday and, as good as the original was, it is a vast improvement over the original, as far as I've seen.

Please tell me that someone else here knows what I'm talking about...

Yeah, I know..... *shudders* I hope there aren't any more um.... unusual undertones to that game, as there were in the first one.

the combat could get very repetive and the flight controlles(when on dragon) are a bit off along withe camera other than that it was a pretty fun game

I'll just put it this way, the hero is in love with his sister. And I do mean in love.

Well, in some places and time periods that is quite common....it`s still disgusting.

One more question: Does anything happen about that?

As I understand it, all of the main characters of the game are COMPLETELY UNRELATED. So... no brotherly-sisterly love jones going on there. A bright spot for all of us, I'm sure.

Bzzt... sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I quote the following from Official Playstation Magazine's March 2004 issue:

"Despite its lousy gameplay, Drakengard's story is what makes me absolutely hate, hate, hate it. Early on, Caim reaches into himself to pull out a red glowy thing, which he touches to the red glowy thing coming out of a dragon's mouth, thus resulting in a reluctant pact against the empire. The convoluted, poorly written, horrendously voice-acted, incest-suggestive events to follow compose the worst story I've ever seen in a PS2 game. And just try to like any of the characters. Impossible."

Ah. Given that we were talking about the first one, and you didn't make mention of the second one, I thought we were still talking about the first one. Gomen.

I actually just bought the first Drakengard game a couple of weeks ago, and then I bought the second one last weekend, because the box was pretty and the fmvs on the demo I played were pretty, and everyone had British accents.(Probably a dumb reason, but eh..and I like dragons.^^)

I've been slowly playing the first one, but I'm not really far into it yet. How bad is the incest stuff? I mean, I read some reviews of the game and none of them said anything about incest. They mostly just complained about the battle system. The first reference I actually saw to incest was after I'd already bought the first game. It was the Official Playstation Magazine making a reference to the first game(I thought maybe they were just being dumb), but they didn't go into detail, because it was a review for the second game.

About the whole incest thing... it's basically hinted at in the game, but as far as acts are concerned... nothing really happens. I still haven't gotten the final ending, though... so, I could be wrong. I'm working on it.

I would laugh if the final boss of two is
a giant floating evil girl that you have to kill with your dragon while she is talking in a deep manly voice...
oh I wonder if there are more of the floating baby enemies for the dragon fight scenes...... (still hears that elf lady scream "MMMYYYYYYYY BAAAAABBBBBBBIIIIIEEEEEEEESSSSS" and act like she wants to eat little children .......)

I know! Arioch was one twisted elf-lady-person-thing.

I only beat the game once but I swear I hated all the characters I came across (I had not encountered the one little girl to add to your group yet) From the suicidal and upset knight/blind guy to arioch, to kaimes weirdness and anger was just a turn off.

Though if this game improves on that aspect I would love to play it.
