Ohhh boy. I just bought Katamari Damacy and was almost instantly addicted. I wouldn't but a PSP just to play another version, but I will end up buying "We Love Katamari" sooner rather than later.
And the music is great, it is absolutely perfect for the quirky Katamari gameplay.

I own Katamari Damacy and probably will get We Love Katamari eventually. And the PSP version called Me and My Katamari will be out in February and I'm deffinetly picking that up.
I also love the music, listen to them all the time.

I played We love Katamari over Monkey J. Luffy`s house and I tried out co-op mode. It could`ve been better but it`s wicked fun. Me and Josh coincidentally controlled our katamari in the same direction almost the whole time.

It really would work better on the DS, with a virtual trackball.

Yes, I think it would too. Namco has made games on DS, so there are no contract issues.

For all of you guys who go with imports you are in luck.
there will be a katamri DS in Japan. Unfortunately it WILL NOT be released stateside. That I know is official. It`s release date is to be announced in Japan.

There will be a link to a newstory from GameSpot if you click on the DS one.

Yeah, and basically, all it says is Namco said they were interested in doing a handheld version of Katamari...which we all know as Me and My Katamari for PSP. You know. That system that isn't the DS. Yeah.

Um no, they already finished Me and My Katamari and are in the making of a DS one for Japan only.

i apologize for doubleposting, but here is a good handful of screenshots for Me and My Katamari. It appears some of them are sidescrolled....hmmm
In this link, there is also the opening movie for Me and My Katamari.
http://www.gamespot.com/psp/action/katamaridamacy/index.html
And here is a link to the tiny bit of information we have regarding the DS version.
http://www.gamespot.com/ds/action/katamaridamacy/index.html?q=katamari
EDIT: The sidescroller thing is the credits that you can control like the cointinent thing at he end of the 1st one. Also, after doing a little research i found out the one for DS is just a release of the original for the DS. Same levels and everything.

SIGH. Let me make it CLEARER since you obviously didn't understand.
When we reported that Katamari Damacy was coming to the Nintendo DS and that it was "Too Good to be True", we might have been right. NetJak, who has been pretty reliable in the past when it comes to insider information, has talked to an anonymous source that states "there are no plans for a Katamari Damacy game on the Nintendo DS. None. Nada." I'm also inclined to believe it since we have heard nothing about it since late March, when Nintendo Power readers saw the little blip on the "Coming Soon" page of that month's issue. Bummer.
In other words, THERE IS NO KATAMARI FOR DS.
Do you understand me now?

Katamari Damacy was money well spent for me too. Is it just me or does one of the kids in the movies sound like Al from FMA?

I tink you have a point there, but there are many people that sound like that.

But you were the one who brought the subject up...
I sense some avoidance of what Kaemmerite has to say =p

Um..I just researched and found a news article that the DS game was in developement. Kaemmerite just said "No,you`re wrong."
That`s all there is to it.

That seems like a legit answer tom. I googled this myself and I found out that katamari for the DS ain't happening.
at IGN.com
Although this title was on a list of games planned for the Nintendo DS in an issue of Nintendo Power, Namco has not made any official announcements as to whether the game actually exists and when such a game would be released for the DS, and reps have unofficially denied plans in the immediate future for a DS entry in the franchise. Please check back for a possible status update on this title.

It's not what Nintendo says, but what Konami says. Nintendo made a mistake okay?
Now I would like a katamari game for the DS, getting one would be way cool. But as of now there is NO KATAMARI planned for the DS.

That was already confirmed to me MSP by Kaemmerite. I am aware he made a legit answer but the only message I got out of it was "No, you`re wrong."
