Boss Room (*help wanted*)

Can't recall if I made something about this before, but I'll go ahead and say 'no', I did not base this off the "Boss Thread". This is an idea I've been working with for awhile but never managed to really get down to. However, with my skills in HTML, I'm ready, and anyone else willing to help is welcome.

Basically, I've been trying to create a website devoted to strategies on video game Bosses, grouped by system, then bosses within chosen game.
I can take help in HTML, design, strategies, screenshots (of bosses), where to host, etc.

For strategies, he set-up would be:

[picture]
Boss Name:
Energy/HP/etc.: (other stats cn go below)
Difficulty: (see below)
Attacks/Strategy: (can be together or seperate)

On difficulty, go with 'X's for now (though we might use more "creative" ones):
X - easy. Can't lose against, or shouldn't, unless you just suck that much.
X X - Fair battle. Might lose if you're not careful, but overall pretty easy.
X X X - a challenge. Moderate difficulty.
X X X X - tough. Beatable, but typically takes quite a few tries to do so.
X X X X X - aggravatingly hard. Many times goes with those 'optional' boss fights.
N/A - story-driven fight you can't win.

Pictures should either be taken yourself or you can use sprites with credit given.

Keep strategies and pics on the same document (Microsoft Word, preferably, or the like).

Hey, I`m the founder of "The Boss Thread".

Sorry for doubting you, but I didn`t think you`d actually be able to pull that off but now for some reason I can see you aren`t messing around?

Are you working on the site?

I did before (and had quite alot of stuff), but I lost everything I did, so I'm starting from scratch (literally, since I'm using HTML this time).

are you looking for any particular games to begin with, or is this a free for all? I've got a couple good pointers for some Star Ocean bosses, but if that's not what you're looking for, then it's cool. :)

Anything works. From NES to next-gen, any game, any genre.

I'll probably do a few Genesis bosses once the site's up. Cool idea, Myoti - don't give up on this one.

I wil probably pull up my pants, do a crzy dance, and post help for RPG bosses.

I won't... if I get started.

I kid, I kid. I won't be working on it immediately (cuz I'm at my aunts right now), but once I get a basis for the site, I'll put up the stuff.

Of course, you can go ahead and turn in stuff anytime (and of course, credit will be given to everyone who helps out).

Tom Nook - XXXXX - I've tried using the golden shovel multiple times on him, but to no avail he defeats me with his "Debt" attack every time...

Still working on a strategy for this one...

Tom Nook? It does not ring a bell, but the first name is rather intrudging.

Animal Crossing, Tom. At first I thought he was talking about you.

So did I. I realized who Tom Nook was after the golden shovel thing.

A'ight. Here's a little start (never mind the text in the middle box; I was bored...). All you need to do is click File, Save As, type ".htm" at the end. Then open the file on browser to see.

I seem to have forgotten some of coding skills, so I'll need the help of anyone else with HTML knowledge. One thing in particular: I can't seem to get the e-mail info to the bottom of the page.

The sooner I get some boss stuff, the sooner I can "update" it, and show how it'll really be.

Oh, and if someone can work on actual logo, that'd be nice...

Are you wanting boss strategies here in this thread immediately? If so, I can create a few off-hand.

Here are all the bosses from Beyond Oasis - a Sega Genesis game. (My favorite game of all time, too.) I doubt anyone will use it, but there's my contribution to humanity for you. And you might want to provide a link to my FAQ on the game:

Oooh, I`ll send games for old school bosses like in Ape Ecape or Sonic.

Well, I'd prefer them to be in a document format or such (Word or Notepad; preferably whatever is smaller). I'd also prefer it to be a complete set of bosses from the one game in the same document.
But yeah, whenever you can get the stuff in is good.

GP, that was perfect. I'll go ahead and put it in (to see how it looks). Also, that gamefaqs link isn't working. O.o

And yes Tom, bosses from any game is fine, old or new.

Given that I just finished it, I should be able to give you something on the Kingdom Hearts bosses. I was thinking of only doing the special bosses, but it really shouldn't be difficult to do all of them. This is a bad terminal for writing those, but I'll write them eventually.

Alright, whenever's fine.

I'm having temporary problems with the images, but it's probably just because I'm a bit rusty with the coding...

I'm glad you liked it!

Here's a different link:

It's the one by VortexSpin.

Alright, thanks.

Also, I'm still having Image problems for some reason (I did them all as PNG). The crab and skull pics are showing up fine, but the turtle dragon and golem ones won't...

Argh. Problems galore. Here's the link for the source of the boss pics:

Anything else?

I dunno. I've pretty much finished yours, but the pics won't appear for some stupid reason...

In a word, I don't know what the heck is wrong. I've gone over the code again and again, I checked the names, all the pics are in the same file...
It's like they're there, but they won't show up.

Here's what I've got, anyways (again, save as ".htm").

I have come to the realization that there are already a ridiculous number of strategies online for the bosses of Kingdom Hearts. Instead of entering this chaotic arena, I instead give you something for a relatively new game: Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows. Not a great game, but one that no one has written extensive guides for. Within the document I have provided a link that should have all the images you need.

Guides for the Battletoads bosses have also been written, but the images make the file much too large to be uploaded. What would you like me to do?

Thanks.
Could you possibly place the other images in another attachment?

They're the vast majority of the problem, actually, but I'll try to give it a shot later when I have time. It is also possible I can resize the images or drop them to a lower-resolution file type.

Okay, here's a strategy for those having trouble beating Safer Sephiroth in Final Fantasy VII. This has ALWAYS worked.
First, make sure you have the following Materia in Cloud's party when you start fighting Bizzarro Sephiroth (have to start with this battle because you fight this boss before going to Safer with no breaks.:
MP Absorb+any summon, Ultima, or Comet
HP Absorb+any summon, Ultima, or Comet
Enemy Skill
Barrier+All (if you didn't get Big Guard)
Time+All (if you didn't get Big Guard)
Cure+All
Destruct
Bahamut
Neo Bahamut
Zeo Bahamut
Heal
Oh, and give someone a Ribbon or you won't have a prayer.
In any other team, Just use Cure+all, Heal, and Barrier+all if you don't have another Enemy Skill or if you don't have Big Guard
Now to start the battle, cast Big Guard or Wall and Haste, then Regen. Then start on part E. When it asks you to switch, do so, and start on part D. Switch back and forth until you see the "Core Defense Down in front of Cloud's party" message. Now switch back to Cloud's team and do no more switching until you kill it.
After the battle, use a Megalixir to restore any HP/MP lost in the previous fight. Then start up Big Guard and Regen again. As soon as you get a chance, cast DeBarrier on Sephiroth to get rid of that Wall he's probably cast by now. Watch out for his Shadow Flare, which he'll probably use right away. Get a heal ready for the Pale Horse. Use whatever spell you've got linked to MP Absorb and/or HP absorb a lot, so that you slowly drain Sephiroth's HP and MP. Doing that greatly reduces the amount of times he can do his Supernova summon. This really makes the battle go a lot faster. And remember to recast Wall if necessary.

It turns out that it was easy to resize the images. They're less than a tenth of their former size, putting the attached document easily within the limits. That is all I have for the time being.
