Which Nintendo Console is your favorite?

Which of these Nintendo Consoles do you like the best?
NES
SNES
N64
Gamecube
Any Protable Nintendo device
The main reason I made this thread is because I want to know:
What is the deal with SNES? What was so great about it? I see no greater abilites than the NES and I barley see a graphic difference since it came out after NES. The only difference I see about the system is that the controllers are different colors and you can`t even play NES games on it! The only excuse I have head about the greatness of SNES is that it has the most classic games on it. So it is the games you like, not the system!

People buy systems for the games, not for the systems. Who wants to stare at a console all day long? Also, snes was a massive leap in graphics compared to the NES, even though graphics dont make a game.

Dude.... SNES > NES > GC > N64
Game Boy and such doesn't fall into this group IMO because they're totally different markets.
Moving on, graphic capabilities of a system are really superficial things to look at. The gameplay is what counts as far as I'm concerned. That's why I don't like XBox. No games it has interest me.

Yes, I know. So if all those games were put on the genesis that would make the Sega Genesis a great system? What I`m saying is, they could`ve put those games on any system. I don`t see a graphic jump at all.

I don't see a graphic jump between XBox and XBox 360 but people bought it anyway. The point is, the games on SNES are on SNES. Not on another system. Given, in about 5 years they could be on any console, but still. For the time being, they're SNES games, making the SNES great.

The system translates into the games. Basically, SNES meant Link to the Past, Super Mario World, FF6, Chrono Trigger, Street Fighter II, and the other games that make the SNES great. Without games, each system is useless.
Yes, if those games were released for Genesis, then Genesis would be a good system too. But they weren't.
Likewise, Xbox means Halo. PS2 means MGS. Gamecube means Mario. And so on and so forth. If Xbox had Mario and MGS, it's be an amazing system. But it doesn't.

Actually, the gap between the abilities of the NES and SNES was big. It's just that nowadays people are trained to look at 3-d, and neither platform did that. But if you compare the original Zelda and Link to the Past next to each other, there's significant graphical difference.

SNES, because it has ff6

I also throw in my vote for the SNES, as it has the games I love most.
And no difference in graphics?
Oh yeah, I see what you mean, there's no difference at all.

Also Metroid compared to Super Metroid.
Anyway, I expect Revolution to be the best.
I mean, Goldeneye at 60 frames per second!? I'm sold!

My favorite is SNES, closely followed by NES. I haven't played GC or the handhelds and the N64 was mostly crap.

More proof that NES and SNES are the same. Look at these screens from Metroid and Super Metroid.
WOW! I totally can't tell the difference!

You would have to be blind to not see the difference.

DUDE! Virtual Boy kicked all kinds of butts.
I'm boycotting any games that aren't black and red.

I grew up with the Super Nintendo and it had some great games. I also enjoy the Nintendo 64 because it has MarioKart, Perfect Dark, Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Goldeneye and other great games. Sure it was on a cartridge and there weren't many games aimed at the older demographic but it still had some classics (not to mention the controls were nicely ergonomic compared to the doorknobbed Playstation equivalent).
So in the end its probably the Nintendo 64 for me. I first started playing it in 1998 and haven't stopped since!
(Amiga games also rock!)

PS2 means MGS.
Umm, they began moving some MGS to GC, you know.

Ok, Kaemmerite showed you how that wasn't true... Super Nintendo had twice the number of buttons (not counting the D pad), letting you do a lot more all at your fingers (sorry if you're an apple fan, we can get you a keyboard to hold the control (or is that apple?) key while you press the a button...) It was the pinnacle of 2D game world (PS1, GBA, and DS 2D games, when they don't simply look 16 bit, are just too... I don't know... They don't look right) It was full of innovation, all the way through the life of the system, and had an incredible lineup of RPGs and classic action games that wasn't matched on any previous system... It had the best variety of any Nintendo system, and a smaller percentage of sucky games than the NES, but a large number of games than the N64 (I don't know about GC... I stopped caring about N after 64) The SNES was just the coolest thing around, and I still play it...
Oh, and I loved the Virtual boy except for its two downfalls: The red colors (should have been green... Much easier on the eyes) and the stand... It hurt my neck to and back to play, so I'd just take it off the stand and lay down, letting it rest on my nose, which hurt my nose...
I was really waiting for a game on it that never got released... RED??? WHAT WERE YOU THINKING!!!!

my fav? SNES, followed by a tie between the DS and GBA (since i have an equal amount of GBA and DS games i love), then Gamecube solely because of Smash Bros, then N64 ,GB color, nes... (i'm sorry, i didn't get to play the NES until after i had a SNES (including Mario All Stars), so my perception of the system is probably distorted.) and lastly GB. i despise monochrome...

It was Number 29. Japanese release names on the left, US release names on the right.

As far as Metal Gear to Nintendo. Yes, you get remakes...and crappy card games. Clearly there making the jump. *eye roll*

There is no way I could ever leave out Earthbound. It would be plain wrong.
