I think it's a bit too early for XBox to go 360. But then I could care less.

I agree. They are coming out too early for an upgrade. And I guess that means PS3 is coming out soon..
*sigh* -__-
I just bought my PS2 last christmas.. and now it's going to be outdated already..
(uh oh 2 threads and wrong forum XD )

i would guess ps3 will be coming out NEXT christmas...well both of those consoles have been out for a long time...so i would say if you just bought a ps2, xbox, or gcube...wait alittle while...play the titles you want on those....then buy a 360,ps3, or revolution.....

2 Threads, the same...on the wrong board. I am pretty sure I have had to ask you to be careful in the past where you put threads. In the future, I will exercise the thread deleting of misplaced threads. Its a pain in the butt to have to move everyones threads around because they don't spend 2 seconds glancing around the site.

Yeah, I think the Xbox 360 snuck up on me way too fast. I heard they are taking advantage of this and releasing Halo 3 on the same day PS3 comes out.....Pandemonium.

i say the xbox 360 needs all the advantage it can get as far as competing with the revolution and ps3, so i'm not really surprised at such an early release for it, that plus by the time the other consoles are released developers will already be familiar with the system so that they will be able to make better use of the console's capabilities while still breaking in the ps3 and revolution,
but personally i think that the 360 is going to have some difficulty competing with the other 2 after their release unless the 360 folks can get their hands on some exclusive titles, lets face it, when a system comes out from a long line of systems that's going to be compatible with almost every old gen title that company's put out, that's genius, personally i think the revolution is going to win this console war, with the ps3 and 360 duking it out for second, but that's just "this one's" opinion

its too early for the 360 because Microsoft's big dive into HD-DVD hasnt shown any production worthy results yet. have fun buying a new system when those games start coming out.

From what I've heard, the Xbox 360 isn't supposed to be all that much better than the original. And have you seen the Perfect Dark trailor? That game looks pretty bad for what's supposed to be next-gen (not saying that it looks bad, but it looks like it could've been an Xbox game). But really, when it comes down to it, I won't be buying one anyway, so yeah.

Bungie has denied this repeatedly, so it's probably not happening.
Personally, I don't think 360 is coming out too early. PS2 beat Gamecube and Xbox to the market by a year, and it's doing fine. Besides, hardware wise, the 360 is practically overpowered, so I don't think technology will be a problem.

Bullplop. It's got three 3.2 Ghz processors. That's more than enough. If someone makes a bad-looking game for it, it's the developer's fault, not the system's.

Except their not using HD-DVD. Make sure you do your homework before making a snide comment.
The Halo 3 release on the same day of PS3's launch was just Bill Gates blowing smoke. Bungie will be done with the game when it's done. And I doubt it will be earlier than Fall 2006, most likely later like Spring 2007.
The PS3 and Xbox 360 are very different yet in the end they're pretty comparable in terms of raw power, by looking at their specs. It's like comparing apples to oranges. Besides can anyone honestly tell me the difference graphically between say...I-8 and Gears of War as far as which one is better or worse? I think not.
I used to be like some of you. I used to "despise" the Xbox and trumpeted the PS2. Then I actually played alot of good Xbox games two years later and slapped myself for what I was missing. Some of you guys gotta get over this "my consoles the bestest!" attitude.
The facts are the Xbox 360 is the only one really showing the goods. The PS3 has alot of very promising games and videos out there but no one as of yet outside of the developers has had any hands on time with a single game. Revolution is a virtual no show as far as everything goes...no games shown at all using the new controller. Which is a major letdown since they won't really have a good opportunity to for a long time. Until PS3 and the Revolution show something real I'll be just fine with my 360.

It all depends on one thing, which I haven't been sure about:
What's up with back-compatibilty? Details, please.

So basically only certain games work, and the rest are for a fee, or are the only ones that work gonna cost you extra on the 360?

About 200 games work at the moment, and the list will expand as time goes on. Because they use a software emulator, you need to have the harddrive. That's it.

Yeah I did. So what I get is that only some of the work, and only by buying the harddrive. Joy. :l

Come on, dude. Stop being so negative. Yes, so Microsoft is being a money-grubbing company who is trying to screw gamers every step of the way. But look on the bright side.
They have Halo 3! That's totally worth 800 bucks, isn't it?
