Kingdom Hearts. It has action and fighting, but there isn't any blood or gore, and it's a really awesome game! Fun gameplay and a great storyline

Pa rappa the rapper, DDR, Bemani (see a theme forming here?) None of those are violent, and they are all rather addictive and fun.

Racing games are pretty good...like Splashdown and Downhill Domination. Good party games, too. I second the Katamari

Any of the Burnout games, if you don't have a problem with crashing cars rather stylishly.

I know that Final Fantasy X = 10 has violence, becuase all you do is beat up stuff and go with the story. I actually says its rated for animated blood but I have found Zero blood(or my parents would trash it). I say go with tony hawk games W00T! there is alittle violence and some language but you can turn the blood off( THUG 1 and 2 and American Wasteland). umm If I remember anything else I post but if you have any Tony Hawk Questions ^.^ PM me.

I would agree with Rocketshipper on Kingdom Hearts, its all animated and no blood. However, I think that Star Ocean: Till the End of Time is the best rpg. If he will not even allow any cartoon violence then i would suggest Dance Dance Revolution, which normally just goes by its initial DDR. There are a ton of them out and all challenging if you get the dance pad. If you put it on the extreme difficulty you will really get a work out too. First time i played it for 20 minutes and i was drecnhed with sweat.

Yeah and J-Pop. And I'm sure some other wierdly named sub "genres" that the DDR freaks here are gonna correct me on.:P

not in the true sense of the genre, but yes a lot of electronic & club dance music.

Harvest Moon? There have been PS2 Harvest Moon games for a while... There are two of them, I think, though I have only played one to know for sure. N didn't make it, unless by N you mean "Natsume" which is a third party developer, not directly under Nintendo...

And if your dad doesn't like violence at all, FFX would be out... The battle at the end features a bit of blood, even... Taking the sword out of his chest. Then there's the rampant destruction of Sin.

And if he has a problem with violence, he may have a problem with sexual things as well, and the costumes in FFX, more than the other three 3d era FF games, are rather... Revealing, and strangely so... Loin-skirt and Bikini Boots come to mind... Of course, it's both girls and guys
(buttless and crotchless pants on one Al Bhed guy... Just wearing little speedo underneath...)
but I know a lot of people that would be really bothered by that, though when you play it long enough, you don't really notice anymore...

Also, if you are paying enough attention to pick up on it, there is also the message of the game which, if your Dad is a Christian, may bother him... It bothers me, though I still like the game... So, FFX is not one for the younger ones and if you have conservative parents, I would say no... Don't try for that one...
