Do you play MMORPG's?

hey there fellow fans of that which is called "game", just thought i'd start this thread after encounter a number of caa folks that also play a certain mmorpg that i also participate in, so it got me wondering,

how many caa members are also players?

What mmorpgs do we have caa ppl in?

between the grg folks and caa folks if the number is high enough, should we maybe form a caa/grg clan or something for these games so that perhaps when other caa and grg folk join the game there will already be a group of fellow believers to aid them as they play?

in any case, if u do play an mmorpg, what i'd like for u to do is name the game, if u want to u can give ur username in there so that other caa folk could find u if they so desired, or if u would prefer, perhaps pm other players of the same mmorpg so that u wouldn't have to give it out freely

ok folks, here my info

i play runescape, it's found at http://www.runescape.com and my username there is YeshuaKnight

I notice alot of us play MapleStory.

And GunZ online.

Maybe some CS...

I've always wondered how many play Americas Army.

AND

I think alot of CAA people play Enemy Territory.

I used to play RuneScape, but they hate n00bs in that game...

yeah, i know what u mean, some of the ppl in there still call me a noob and i have a lvl 46 character, i even got on someone about it that was like 3 lvls above me and he was like "well, uh, it's tradition" and i said "ok, first of all, that don't make it right, and secondly, traditions can be broken"

i just get tired of ppl doggin' newbies like that, but i gotta say, i've seen that in other games too, not quite to the same extent, but i've seen many a newbie get segregated and all just 'cus they're new, but i look at it this way "if there were no new ppl, then there would be no ppl at all, we're all new ppl at one point in time, ya jerk!!" (not intended towards anyone here)

I played MUDs a lot in college (to the detriment of my first year grades -_- ). I don't really play anymore, but I do have an archwizard character I keep active since no one else knows how to maintain the game code.

I play Guild Wars which is kinda considered a MMORPG, but yet it really isn't cuz you don't have to pay every month.

Why would money make a difference? An MMORPG is based on the type of gameplay and interaction, not on whether you have to pay for it or not.

actually, from what i understand, guild wars is one of the two best choices for cheapskate gamers that want to get into an mmorpgs, with the other being runescape 'cus while u get a great deal of gameplay for free, being a member ($5 a month charge) allows u to use other skills and u r allowed to explore throughout more of the game world

Hmmm I've tried runescape... I didnt fancy it too much. To be honest its because WoW snagged my interest first. I understand Runescape is free, and a lot of people couldnt afford WoW, but if some day anyone does get world of warcraft, join the gorgonash server on the alliance side and team up with me =)

I play Dark Age of Camelot, just because I'm old-school...and my graphics card isn't that great.

Enemy Territory is not an RPG.

I play urban dead (http://www.urbandead.com)
My two characters are Vaporeon (Firefighter), and a zombie who is steadily leveling up and avoiding zombie hunters well. Haven't been headshotted yet.

I play Guild Wars, occasionally, at my cousin's house. I used to play Ragnarok Online, but my fifteen day trial expired .

If only my cousin still had Asheron's Call...

uh, hate to break it to you, but from what i understand, one of the asheron's call games was shut down 'cus it wasn't getting enough users to justify keeping it up and running

Yeah, that was Asheron's Call 2 which got shut down. Too bad though. My cousin and I used to play the first Asheron's Call, which still has a lot of people playing it.

I liked that game a lot because there was a huge variety of weapons and armour you could get and you could customize your character and equipment however way you like.

i don't know what kind of internet access u have now, but u might at least try out runescape, it's free to play unless u want to become a member (which i personally have no need of doing right now), there are also a variety of weapons to weild and also a variety of skills that you can specialize in, u can even just become good in one particular skill, i know that for the longest time i was only good at mining and smithing weapons, but now i can pretty much kick butt all around (well, as much butt as a lvl 48 player can kick anyways),

if you decide to try it out, i recommend that you do so with someone else that has a stronger character because for some strange reason many of the other players tend to look down on and ridicule new players, not only that, but there are certain quests that should be completed as early as possible because the skills that give you can really come in handy later for making money and having a stronger character, that plus sometimes ppl will try to scam u into losing your stuff either by killing ur character or by tricking u out of it

I have played Runescape before, but I lost interest in it *waits to get pummuled(sp?) by Runescape fans*. I don't know...it just wasn't that appealing to me. Maybe I'll start a new account someday and see if my opinion changes :).

For those who play Guild Wars, what level should you be at if you want to survive in the Shiver Peaks?

it's hard to get started in these kinda games, if you should decide to give runescape an other chance, please post it in here and maybe someone here can give you a hand until your character is strong enough to do a lot of things without a lot of help from others

I play Guild Wars and World of Warcraft. It's tough playing two MMORPGs at once, I admit.

To answer that question (forgot who asked) ... if you are talking about northern Shiverpeaks, you should be around level 11 and with armour from Yak's Bend, otherwise just take some henchmen or party with others and you should be fine.

If you are talking about southern Shiverpeaks, you need to be level 20 with Forge armour and partying with people or hench to stand a chance. Unless you're a primary monk.

If you want to do some in game farming with me, my username in Guild Wars is "Samson Darksbane".

Cheers.

I've played some free MMORPG's in the past. I played RuneScape for years before giving it up. I've also tried MU and Conquer Online, but they just didn't have enough to keep me interested like RS did. I would love to play WoW or something, but I can't be arsed to pay monthly fees. Perhaps I will buy Guild Wars some day.

I too play RS off and on. My character is still level one, and thats because I really don't understand how it works. I might hop back on and look you guys up.
BTW Whats your name on RS Wise Dragon?

hmm...reading this is tempting me to go back to runescape. I played obsessively the summer of 04..very obsessively. Then I got busy with life and they apparently deleted my character. *sobs* I started again, but it just hurt to be so weak after being strong and having major loot. so yeah....should i go back? *debates forever* or I could study. *ick*
