Super Smash Bros. Revolution

I don't now if that'll be the name (though it would be cool), but does everyone here think the next SSB game will be like, especially with the surprise appearance of the Revo controller?
NOTE: No bashing of anything is allowed in this thread. I'm sick of it. Also, if you're making some kind of character suggestion, keep in mind that they're all Nintendo only. No more Sonic, Goku, Snake, etc..

(A veeeery old rumour I heard from a guy in my youth group was that they'd have Krystal and Fox with his staff from the dino one on the GC... I highly doubt it, since it was several years ago, but the staff was awesome.)
(Hmmm... If I had to guess, I'd think there'd be maybe a few more Fire Emblem characters, now that it's in the US.)

Oh, that game's going to rock. Maybe Wario, Daisy and Waluigi. That'd be sweet.

Character thoughts are good and all (and I'm not discouraging them), but I really want to know but people think the gameplay will be like. The most obvious would be to use the "controller shell", but if it was just the "nunchuck" style, how would that work?

It's going to be tough topping SSBM.

I have absolutely no clue what it'll be like! <gets in line to buy it anyway>

True, blkmage. It's hard for anything to topple SSBM.

I think they could have aimed attacks, like with Samus' Blaster or something.
I think an air-dash system where you flick the controller would be neat. Maybe if they had 3-D battlefields, you could really mix it up.
You could hold a dodge button and move the stick to dodge attacks.
I would like to see Dr. Eggman in an SSBM game. I don't know how it would work, but I'd like to.

Yeah, those are the kinda thigns I was thinking. 3-D battlefields would be... tricky, especially for that kind of style.
Maybe they need to do a "Sonic Smash Bros."?

id love to see megaman in it... but he's not a Nintendo Character... that would be freaken sweet... him going against Samus
i do NOT want to see more random pokemon!
Perhaps we ought to see like... Wind Waker link!!! have him purposefully look different than the rest... for a "gag" I guess

I wish they'ed make a Super Smash Bros. DS of course that probably won't happen...Oh well, I guess I'll have to make do with the Revolution...

Actually, I'd like to see Deoxys, considering his background and his combat capabilities. Plus, if they gave him the ability to shift between his three forms (one for defense, one for speed, and one for attack), it could potentially make him the most interesting and versatile character.

Mr. SmartyPants may have been referring to the Pokeball item, though it would make less sense than new characters. Off topic, I have a friend who always plays with everything turned off but Pokeballs, and it's incredibly annoying.
Personally, I don't think this will work as well. Due to the popularity of the game they'll probably make one, but I'm skeptical as to how enjoyable gameplay will be. I think we'll definitely see a more combo-based combat system.

I'm really hoping that they don't try to integrate the new controller with the Smash Bros. style of play. Though it would be interesting, I'm really not sure how they'd do that. I'm hoping that they basically do for this one what they did for Melee. Add a whole load of new content and characters, keep the same style of fighting, and add more moves (perhaps).
I'm certainly hoping that they add more characters from Fire Emblem, especially Joshua from Sacred Stones. Adding more of Fox's team would be cool, maybe even Crystal, but they'd better not make her stink like they did in the Star Fox Assault Multiplayer.

They did. It's called "Jump Superstars".

I think Bubs and Bob would be excellent additions to the Melee cast - they could function like the Ice Climbers, but instead of blocks of ice, they'd use bubbles. Am I serious? I don't know, I wrote that as a joke, but the more I think of it, the more I like the idea. ^^;

Air-Dash and dodge already exist...
Push L in mid air and a direction ad you air-dodge.
Hold block and push a direction to ground dodge.
-------------------------------
I want Tyranitar as a playable character!
Smash B: Mega Punch. A High powered blow.
Down B: Earthquake. The area around him vibrates fiercely. A bit like DK's Down B attack
Up B: Aerial Ace. Darts a short distance horizontally and slashes.
B: Rock slide. He throws a boulder straight forward.
Since he's made of rock. He won't be the best for Aerial combat. To even that out, He'd be a bit heavier to throw.
I would love to see for his throw, to grab the enemy and bite them (Bite attack) or Give them a good old Seismic Toss!
Know who the last character I would want to see? ... Tingle... *shudder*
Wario and Waluigi would be cool. Hector from Fire Emblem (a non-sword wielder!)

They gotta do Ridley. That would so freakin' rock (especially since they only have one Metroid character...). And Metroids as an item (would work like Lip's Stick, except that it actually moves around when thrown)!

I know what you mean. ^^; The SSBM play-style was PERFECT, and I'm really wondering how they'd be able to pull off integrating the new controller in, especially considering how FAST the gameplay is, it'd be hard to successfully emulate the same gameplay with a motion-sensitive controller.
At any rate, I'm still quite interested in this game, though it'd be really hard to beat SSBM. Maybe if they add more unique characters...I can still keep holding out hope that maybe we'll see a Skullkid or a Para-Troopa/Boo or something to that effect. o.o

What if I got them to use Shia in the next SSB?
LOL freakin. Rockin. Stuff.
Anyway, uhh... all I'm really hoping for is a better Fox character.
Fox isn't that short! He's not that weak either! I mean GEEZ he's barely taller than pikachu!

My friend is a die-hard Nintendo Fan. He told me the game is pronounced:
"Super Smas Bros. Wi-Fi".
After doing hundreds of hours of internet research (not 100s but alot) and making sure those sites were not just posting crappy information of utter nonsence he ran up to me and told me the name of the new game.
I`m like......"Can it beat I and Melee?"
One Question:
Wy was Melee rated T?

Somehow, I doubt that title.
One Question:
Wy was Melee rated T?
Apparently for the fact that more "weapon oriented" fighting styles were brought in (like swords). Not sure how it all works, really.

Intense fighting action basically.
The new smash brothers is going to be tricky to incorporate all the SSBM characters in this one as well as adding new playable and secret. In the orginal, Ness and Captain Falcon are th eonly secret characters that were put into playable characters from the start. Which secret characters will they put into playable or keep secret to balance it out?
One thing we will se is of course a mass group of characters. I also expect to see larger arenas that would resemble Hyrule's Castle in SSBM. Proably more pokemon incorporated from Ruby and Saphire. Obviously new items and weapons. I would also expect maybe a customization feature as well as internet play in some sort of function.
I have played around in making characters for a new SSB. I lost the initial list but I can kinda remember some ideas.
- Eagle from Advanced Wars
- Deoryx (or however it is spelled) from Pokemon Ruby and Saphire
- Baby Bowser from the one with baby mario and lugui (forget the name
)
- Din from Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Time
- Fierce Diety Link from Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
- Samus Fusion (the green one) from Metroid Fusion
- Crap...forgot the dragon thing from samus...the bad guy.
I wish I could find my list again.

Ridley certainly would rock, and I like the idea of having metroids as items. That'd be fun.
Having Eagle from Advance Wars would be interesting, but I'm not sure what moves he'd have. I think they should add Poo and Paula from Earth Bound. Poo would be a fighting guru and Paula would use magic like Zelda.

dude they need Jeff in the game as well! He coud use like... bottlerockets and have a lot of long-ranged attacks

The Metriod idea that has been mentioned... was it expanded upon earlier in this thread? I think that is an interesting concept, though it could work a number of different ways. For example, it would be cool if the Metroid latched onto the opponent and slowly dealt unavoidable damage.

That is quite the cool idea, though I would sincerely doubt he'll make any appearances.

I’m guessing the game may play at lot like old, by requiring the use of that Wave-bird-like controller shell. –Or be like Mario 64 DS, making the Revolution’s unique controller totally optional. Time will tell, but I don’t think it’ll be anytime far too radical. Nintendo’s new goal with Super Smash Brother appears to be focused on online play. As for gameplay tweaks, I would like to see would be deeper combo moves (being the Soul Calibur fan, I am). If not, I won’t be disappointed.
Now, of course characters, I really hope they add a ton (like everyone else here), especially if the system premiers as late as holiday ’06. Here are some that I would like to see make it into the gamem but I doubt will…
-Ephraim/Erika from Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones
-Lynn/Guy from Fire Emblem
-Grimm/Max/Flak from Advance Wars: Dual Strike
-Grit from Advance Wars: Dual Strike
-Paper Mario from Thousand-Year Door
-Krystal from Star Fox Adventures
-That greedy Raccoon from Animal Crossing – Huh? I just want to beat up the crook.
-Isaac/Felix from Golden Sun
-Space Pirate from Metriod
-Toad
Or maybe something obscure like that Mach Rider dude or Kid Icarus.
O’yeah, a new mini game or stage-
-Pikmin Revolt: You play as Captain Olimar (or character of choice after unlocking) and take on tons of Pikmin as once.

Kraid, the big green dude? He was in the background of one of the levels. It'd be cool, too, but he's kind... big. >.>

Well, that's what I hand in mind, yes.
