yeah.. they are serious, unfortunately. Looks like revolution might not be bought by me. I'm gonna have to wait until I see it in action before I pass total judgement, though.

Wow, weird...well, I'll give it a chance, anyway. Might prove to be more fun than we think ^^

Black & White 2, huh? well I imagine Lionhead will put in enough work so that the game will actually run correctly on consoles.
Just like with the gamecube's launch, there isnt anything that I really want.

...I had a lot of faith in the Revolution until now. >_>
There is NO way I could possibly use something like that effectively. Here's hoping they come out with a 3rd party NORMAL controller. >_<;

What in the world...? Are you sure that's not just a remote control or something? How the crap do you play something like a fighting game on THAT contraption? O_o
...That site sucks. I'm trying to read the 4th page of the article and it's making me sit through ad after ad after ad after...

It looks..... unwieldy.
Hopefully it's only something like the light gun for the original NES, and we'll still be able to use a normal controller.

Now I've seen everything...

well we all thought that GCN's controller was gonna suck.
At least now we'll become better at our remote-pointing skills.

They're not joking. This controller is going to own more than should be possible. I've lost all disrespect for Nintendo.

After reading the article that was on Game Spot I'm actually intrigued by the idea of this new controller. Sure it looks wierd, but the idea of being able to look around or point more effectively, like with a PC mouse, is just cool.
I was a upset with it because I was afraid that this would scare of any thrid party support for the console, but Link said that the Revolution has slots for Gamecube controllers. I'm wondering if there'll be another controller to support those third party games that don't use the new controler, possibly just using the old Gamecube controller. I'm not sure of this, it's just a thought.

One thing of Note:
How many people do you know that can wwave their arm around for an hour?

I don't believe those are official screens of what the controller will actually be used for.
I know for FPS' you'll probably just use the remote to look around.
But why would you twirl it for an attack in Smash Bros? That's just downright stupid and unlogical.
Also, look at the actual file name for those first few pics "Revolution-Controller-The-Possibilities" All IGN did was photoshop on the hand holding the controller over games already made/game screens that have been previewed and it's what they imagine you'd be able to do with it.
Waving your arm around for an entire hour would just be tired, we all know it, Nintendo knows it, so I'm sure they won't make it like IGN said would be "Possible". They're Nintendo, they care about their customers, they wouldn't want us to just play for an hour and stop because we can't go doing a spinslash with link in Smash Bros anymore
This controller is one of the most innovative things I've ever seen, Sony and Microsoft are playing it safe by sticking with standard controllers, but Nintendo has some guts for making that.
Also, don't forget this IS still just the prototype, things could change.
Either way though, Revolution now has my full support, right on to Nintendo.
Now if only they would release some screenies for some Revo games!

I don't know what to think about that new controller...they say that playing video games increases hand eye coordination...but, that thing looks difficult to use....
o_0
...although I must add that it IS awesome that nintendo is being innovative. I love nintendo...still have my SNES....want a gamecube...I'll just have to see what games are going to be coming out on the revolution and then I'll make up my mind....

Nintendo still hasn't learned their lesson that "innovative" does NOT equal good, huh?
This may be the final nail in the casket...oh well, couldn't last forever, I guess.

Actually, according to all of the impression I have read, your not really going to be doing that. The sensor is precise, so all it would take in a FPS to look around is a little movement in the wrist.
Also, if say a Zelda game, for instance, does have a swing mechanic like that... I'm all for it. Folks these days need a little more exercise.

Well, this about all Nintendo can do. In the console market, their backs are to wall. While the DS touch screen wasn't truely needed for Nintendo, this Revolution controller is, I believe.
There is a lot hope for this system, I believe. ...the line-up for the Nintendo DS is pretty awesome now. -You know, Lunar on the DS is being made by GameArts (some, unknown made the GBA one).... Ubisoft's only funding it.

Why do I fear Nintendo is going the way of Sega? Sega was always the first to jump the gun and try to be the more innovative than everybody else and they lost the console wars as a result. A controller like that might be fun as a periphial, (sp?) but I much prefer the old fashioned method of using a standard controller. I'm seriously hoping they aren't going expect you to play every single game with a remote.

Online play and free game archives was enough to sell me. Now I'm not so sure about getting one of these. I don't want innovation. I just want a solid freaking console.

Scanning the article, it looks like 97% speculation about exactly how this remote will work. I will await more details before passing judgment. At least now there is more basis for everyone's speculation then there was.

Having now seen the vidio, I think that it will be an interestin addition to the world of consoles. I would not have bought it anyway, so it doesnt matter too much. I am still awaiting info on the PS3.

At first, like everyone, I was thinking what Nintendo was possibly thinking.
But then I thought about the possibilities. For instance, I completely suck at console FPSes because of the controller. I can't aim and move like I can with a keyboard and mouse. This may be the thing to solve my problem.
Anyhow, I'm pretty sure my reaction to this is somewhat like my reaction to the N64 controller. And the Gamecube controller. They both turned out perfectly fine.
I applaud Nintendo for taking this risk. We need companies to take risks with innovation like this. Otherwise, gaming will suffocate and die a quick death with yet another sports game or MMORPG being released year after year.
Anyway, 1up has an article along with a few simple demos they had ready for getting a feel of the controller.

I orignally thought it was going to be a duel between the big N and ps3 due to the 360's graphics (much much below the other two in estimated specs) and its release date and its marketing strategy (velocitygirl73 or whatever it was...come on that was very stupid....)
But...now im not so sure... this probably ticked off 60% of the N's fanbase and the gamer who likes the normal controller... i mean what will it be good for? fps? nintendos only good fps is metriod and seriously what other fps are they going to have? mario? and even if i can see someone like a kid in my youthgroup ( he fails about when playing halo and other fps's) i can see someone getting hurt bad with it (i can see it now imagine A ACCTUALLY GOOD FPS on the N (this is theoretical) this kid:AHHH ohhh YOUR KILLING ME...FREAKIN HOMO *he flails a bout then* *wham* *freind is hit in the face* me: ME EYE!!!)
strategy types. this may be good if it can acctually be like a lightgun or something...otherwise this is going to suck for strategy
fighting....no...just...no....rip smash brothers
gimicky stuff.. heck yeah this will be fun for gimicky mini game esque games. i hope nintendo proves me wrong but im really worried about there future.
The moves of N and microsoft are pushing me, rather forcefully, towards sony. This makes me sad because i was hoping it would be more level this round..........

I'm not totally sure what to think. One can be too innovative. Still, I'm interested to find out more.
People criticized the DS when it was announced and that turned out to be a hit...so...

So that means Revolution kicks the other systems' behinds. ^_^
