The FFXII/FFT/FFTA Connection Thread

Ok, so we know as of now, FFXII is the particular "Final Fantasy" that the kids of FFTA get sucked into. That makes FFXII and FFTA connected somewhat. Then everyone throws FFT out of the package of connections. As Kent Hovan says: "I have a theory." What if, parsay, the world the kids live in in FFTA was the same world as FFT only about 1000 years difference. Ever think of that? Or what if FFt and FFXII are the same world then? hm?
Release News: Another sad day for FFXII fans. Originally it was February 2005 then Summer 2005 then Fall 2005 then Christmas 2005 then March 2006...and now it has been pushed back AGAIN! But not as far back as usual. May 2005 has been declared the official USA release. One more delay and I`m moving to Japan.
My Opinions:
Final Fantasy Tactics: I`m not far enough to decide my true opinion on story since I`m on Chapter One but I can say this: It`s FLIPPIN` Hard! Good game, Good Story, very difficult.
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance: A lot easier than FFT yet lighter on story. I would probably say this was my favorite TRPG, but the Law System made Fire Emblem take its place. Great game, light story, good challenge.
One note: FFTA defaced the job system like FFX defaced masculine main characters.
I`m just playing. Tidus is awesome, but there`s a huge contorversy that Tidus looks and acts like a girl. They`re just comparing them to Mr.t with a machine gun arm and the emotionless mercenery, oh and don`t forget everyone`s favorite goth.....Zell?!

I disagree strongly. FFTA's job system wasn't bad, just easy to manage. And Tidus was plenty masculine, just not stoic and angsty like Cloud and Squall. I agree about FFTA being awesome, though. I agree[sup]3[/sup].

Yeah, honestly, I don't see why Tactics Advance gets beat up by gamers so much. I mean, it was nowhere near as good as the original Tactics, I'm sure everyone can agree. But it wasn't a bad game. I really only had one complaint about it.
They used the ability learning system from FFIX. Ugh. I have to equip weak weapons and armor just so I can learn an ability. Lame. Why didn't they keep the JP system? Further add to this fact that I never could get any Mithril weapons, because you got them RANDOMLY from fights.
But overall, Tactics Advance was a good game.

FFTA was good, but I eventually just got bored of it. I dunno why, but most tactical turn-based games aren't that fun to me (Fire Emblem's okay).
But yeah, there are similarities between FFTA and FFXII, like reusing the Bangaa and Viera and putting Moogles in as a main race again. But where's that other race from FFTA (the mage ones, can't recall their name).

The kids in FFTA get sucked into ffxII but thye don`t say FFXII specifically.
In FFTA, is Ivalice the only map you go to? How many crystals are there? I got one.

Ivalice IS the only map you go to. As for crystals, I remember about....3 specifically, but it's likely that there are more than that.
As for the rest of FFTA, I actually enjoyed it quite thoroughly. I'm very accustomed to FF9's skill system (having played through the game multiple times), so it didn't bother me much in Tactics.
Having weaker weapons was just another aspect of strategising, I guess. *shrugs* Or at least that's how I saw it. The law system was my main gripe - but I had fun moving around the map trying to get the laws I wanted. XD;
Anyways, I'm pretty excited seeing Viera and Moogles in FFXII - I haven't seen any screencaps of the Baanga or the Nu-mu yet, but I'm pretty sure they're there, too. I'd be might disappointed if they aren't. =X

Never call a Bangaa a lizard.

They're based in pretty much the same world, but in FFTA it's a story, not a "real" place.

Numu! That's it. For Baanga, I think you can find them on the official site.
Never call a Bangaa a lizard.
They still have that deal in FFXII. XP

FFTA was a decent game but it's not my favorite SRPG.
It bordered on too easy, and the law system, which was supposed to make the game more challenging, just came off as annoying later in the game.
Other than that, as I said before, it was a decent game.
I like the first FFT and the Fire Emblem series quite a bit better.

I`m ocnufsed about how long the game is. I`m about to destroy the third crystal. am I almost done?
Also, do you really have the option of going back to the real world or staying there?

At the interest of avoiding spoilers, I'll just say "no" and leave it at that.

Oh alright. Are any characters from either FFT or FFTA in this new May 2006 release?

No, of course not. None of the games take place in the same world. Remember, in FFTA, Ivalice was the world in the storybook. In FFXII, it's a real world.
Actually, I think the storyline writers may have said something about it being the same world (I can't remember), but thousands of years apart, so since I doubt any of the characters can live that long, that answers that.

I thought the kids in FFTA go into the FFXII world....but I was wrong. So the real world in FFTA is considered the world of that game...I`m confused.
So didn`t the kids go into the Ivalice in FFXII...
Ok so once I destroy 5 crystals I beat the game, right?

I`m at the palace on "Present Day" after destroying the 5th crystal? How much more challenging and how long till the end from here? The battle with the human Totema was fairly difficult.
