Nah! The most addictive game is Zoo Keeper for the DS. I`d rather get a PSP though.
Lumines is like the next Tetris right?

Gosh I'm so tempted sometimes to get a PSP with Lumines and Metal Gear Acid. I can afford it and all but I've bought like 3 games this past month and a half and I haven't beaten them all yet. And then Battlefield 2 comes out later this month which I just preordered today and I know that will suck my time up. And of course Xbox 360 is looming on the horizon along with Shadow of the Collosus.

It's more of a tactical strategy game with cards. Besides would it matter? It has a tutorial in it.

I have a PSP with Lumines, Dynasty Warriors, Twisted Metal: Head-On, and Untold Legends. Out of those, Lumines is easily the most fun addicting.
I didn't like the changes made to DW for the PSP (battlefields divided into zones that you have to "liberate" by defeating all of the enemy troops in that zone), a lack of healing items (instead you have to heal at supply bases, which takes precious time away from the game clock), and sub-par graphics (at least when compared with games like Twisted Metal and Lumines). The only positive new feature is the ability to have the playable generals as bodyguards. It would be nice to see that in the console version. I also felt that the time limits on the battles were much too short. They barely give you enough time to finish, even if you take the most direct route to victory (which is annoying since I like to roam the battlefied killing every enemy general when I play the console DW).
Untold Legends was also a disappointment. I like Champions of Norrath and Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance (from which the combat system in UL is derived), but I disliked this game. The load times are horrendous, and the lack of 4 shoulders buttons means that you have to press multiple buttons on the controller in order to
block. It would seem like that feature would be important enough to map to one button, but apparently Sony doesn't think so.
In contrast, Twisted Metal: Head-On is an excellent game, especially for fans of the series. There are some new cars, new maps, and redesigned versions of old maps (it was nice to see L.A. and Paris return, in particular). The graphics are some of the best on the PSP, and ability to play online is a nice bonus (unfortunately PSP ownership hasn't yet reached the point where I can find a lot of opponents
).
Getting back to Lumines, it is a great puzzle game. The gameplay is somewhat more similar to Tetris Attack than the original Tetris, since you are trying to form rectangles instead of lines. The different skins and music (which changes according to your peformance) add a lot to the game. Although I have not tried it yet, the wireless vs. mode seems very interesting.
When I went to see Star Wars Ep.3 on opening night, there were several people in the theater with PSPs. After seeing that, I will probably start bringing mine to movies so that I can take advantage of the wireless connectivity of the system
.

What makes block games so addictive?

The rules are generally simple, but the game itself takes a great deal of skill to master. Most block games also don't take much time to play, so they are a good choice when players don't have 2+ hours to grind and quest in an RPG or run though a complete level in an adventure game. Puzzle games are some of the few games left today that still have significant numerical scores attached to performance, which adds a competitive element.
For these reasons, puzzle games (not just block games) are addictive. Some great non-block puzzle games are Columns, Bust-a-Move, Super Monkey Ball, and Breakout.

Hmmm...

I think I
did mention it. Strictly speaking the music is changed rather than made by playing, since there is always some sort of backgroun music accompanying the game. Either way it is a cool innovation in the puzzle genre.

Bust-A-Move, and look at me thinking it was a Dance Dance Revolution rip-off.

Nope...it's a fun puzzle game that for some reason features Bubble Bobble characters (a game which is debatably a puzzle game or a platformer).

So what`s Bust-A-Groove? The sequel.

Nope...Bust-a-Groove is an actual dancing game that is totally unrelated to Bust-a-Move (confusing, isn't it?).
To answer your other question, Bubble Bobble is a platformer/puzzler, depending on how you interpret the genres. It was originally released on the NES, but is also on the SNES (probably the Game Boy as well). The object of the game is the defeat all of the enemies by capturing them in bubbles that are spit out by the little dragon character. It is somewhat similar to Rainbow Island, if that helps.
Edit: In case you're interested, there is a free flash version of Bubble Bobble available here:
http://www.compfused.com/directlink/478/ The controls are:
Ctrl-Start, shoot bubble
Space-Jump
Arrow keys-move

Oh, Bust-A-Move, I have played that. Bust-A-Groove is what I thought was the dance dance R. Ripoff. Doesn`t Square make Groove?

Yes, Bust-a-Groove is made by Square. Bust-a-Move and Bubble Bobble are made by Taito.

Oooh, I beat it has a gwipping pwot, mind-bwowing gwaphix ,and character design that wocks!!!!!!!!
No, seriously, I might consider buying it if it`s cheap. i`d assume it would be cheap unless it`s more than a puzzle game.
