The official word from Sony is that what was shown was real gameplay. I swear, I almost cried when I saw that. Best looking game ever. Period.

two words... halo killer.... and i hate to say it because i love halo. i mean when the guys eyes go wide and the look of horror on his face when the rocket hit near the craft i was so wideyed i thought my eyes where gonna pop out

Obviously the best looking game of the show. It totally blew me away when I saw it and that most deffinetly was realtime. Killzone was way too overhyped as a "Halo Killer" but it was still a decent FPS. It just didn't live up to it's hype and the standards everyone set for it were too high. One of it's main limitations was that it bogged down from graphical slowdown too much. But with this PS3 sequel I don't think that'll be a problem...
But I think it's a little early to be making judgements as far as whether this is a Halo killer or not. I'd want to see and play both games personally and I think that's the only fair way to tell.

it... looks... awesome.... no words can describe how much I gushed over it when I saw it on tv.
While some parts looked like gameplay, they obviously cheated a bit to get what the actual game will probably look like.... you know, blending togething the real time gameplay with a few pre-rendered things. But that's ok because they really haven't been given much time to work on it.
Only gameplay can make something a "Halo-killer" though. The original Halo doesn't have phenominal graphics anymore, but I still love it to pieces. I'm really looking forward to how this one turns out.
But.. the DETAIL! The detail in this was AMAZING!! The people have such human-like movements and there was so much going on. Like, two guys were pulling back an injured/dead guy while you looked around and that ship that got shot down and the rocket launcher... oohhh I love the rocket launcher.
