THe games no fun that way ^^.

But it's up to you if you want to know the secrets and stuff while you play and as you come to them. I only used the guide tho when I was ABSOLUTELY stuck so it just depends on you.

As long as the guide doesn't have plot spoilers in it I'd say get it. If it does just becareful if you don't want it spoiled.

well I got the game, and plan on starting it tomorw, I dun have the guide yet, but I think I will get it, or just use Gamefaqs

That's what I used (GameFAQs). I didn't bother to spend money on a guide in a store when I get a lot of choices for free, but it's up to you which way you decide.

After all it is a series they just had to span it out on 4 discs. Yes I agree Desperado all 4 must be played. If not...Hoo-boy the endings to each disc will make you buy it anyways lol.

Actually, it is of my humble opinion that if they took out all the pointless stuff like the random keyword system, they probably could have fit the entire game on one disc. I mean, look how much was crammed in FFX, and it was only one disc. Tons of FMVs and probably a couple of hours of speech.

So getting back to my original point, I think they could have fit all of .hack on one disc. Or at LEAST two. But no, it's four discs. Why? Because they want to make gamers fork over more cash than they deserve. That was another thing that kept me away from the .hack series was the sheer greediness of the game makers.

How is it pronounced: dot hack slash slah infection? What`s the gameplay like? I heard this games were prety decent but when I buy it I wanna know how its pronounced.

And isn`t Jman`s avatar from a Hack game?

And are the four dics on four seperate games?

I enjoyed .hack part one, two, and three. I still plan to finish four but it will have to wait until I have lots, and I mean lots, of time to burn. Its sad considering I would really like to finish this series. I enjoyed them a lot. Go for it :thumb:

It's pronounced "Dot Hack Infection". Pretty simple.

The gameplay to me is a kind of mix between KH and FF. Meaning you run freely in the field and dungeons. You encounter monsters through a portal thing. The portal turns into a monster and you engage. When you are in battle you attack and can move around, but the monster will follow you till all ends of the earth if you run lol. (At least they did to me...)

Jman's avatar is the main character from .Hack named Kite.

As far as the discs, it is a 4 part game. The entire storyline is so big and complex they had to span it all on 4 discs. So it's one big story just split up on 4 discs.

Infection, mutation, outbreak, and Quantine I think.....

The storyline sounds kinda stupid though. A boy playing a video game and then getting sucked into it?

Nuuuuu you're confusing that with the TV series .Hack//SIGN.

The TV series problem and whats goin on in the games are one in the same. It just that you see the story through Kite's eyes. .Hack//SIGN goes through the eyes of Tsukasa (my fav .Hack Character). It's hard to tell the story in a few sentences...so it's best to either read a synopsis of it somewhere or just watch the show or play the games lol.

But if you want I can try and sum it up...but its been a while since I played the games or watched the show (which I have on DVD) so I may not be the best choice for story info.

I've had the game first month it was released to the US. With little knowlege of the game itself (besides the fact the Evangelion creators had to do with the game) I bought it. imo, the game wasn't all that good. Where you need to buy the rest of the series (pt2,3,4) to understand the game fully.

Well from a money making view it was a smart move. However it is kinda crappy we gotta buy all 4 games to get the whole story. Luckily tho I was able to borrow them all from my friend :D. He bought them as they cam out and we played it together.
