Auron...Auron is...
UNSENT! DEAD!
Curse you, square-enix! How could you do this to my favorite character!
Did anyone else feel like someone punched them in the stomach on that one?

It didn`t come as a surprize to me. How far are you Ashley?

I just beat Sin from the airship...which was almost boringly easy. I stayed long range, had Tidus haste Lulu and Wakka (which then cast either level 3 spells or attacked). Tidus would cheer on his turn, keep up the stamina, and when Sin attacked I'd pull in Rikku and use one of the like, 98 Al Bhed potions I have. (I'm a total item horde). Even his "core" was pretty sorry if you ask me...but, I have a sense that tells me it's not over yet.
Still, I was shocked. I caught Seymour's little quip about Auron in Guadosalam, but I guess I just didn't want to believe it. Auron is hands down my favorite character in FFX.

True he is one of my favorite characters in all of Final Fantasy, but that twist made him even more interesting of a character. Besides, I love a good twist.
I thought it was pretty interesting when you got to Zanarkand and learned about Braska, Jecht, and Auron. Not to mention understood more about messed up Seymour.
Off Topic: Here's to hoping FF-XII has a great story (or has one), unlike any of Square-enix's games since Final Fantasy X (which didn't involve the Enix, technically). If there is one with a great story, please name it, I would like to play it.
I never liked that merger... *rambles on*

I have a lot to say about that, but I will keep my mouth shut. I don't want to ruin anything. I’ll just leave it at “I rooted for Seymour.â€

Yeah, that makes me mad too. You could probably guess that by looking at my avatar anyways.
Don't forget to play IX Ash.

I have my reasons. They are at the core of Life and Death on Spira. I'm not sure if it's deep philosophy or grand comedy, though.
PM me if you really want to know. I don't want to spoil anything for anyone.

Actually, I figured this out long before we were officially told (though I did receive one hint that wasn't in the game). All in all, I think it's unfortunate that he doesn't stick around and appear in other games (though perhaps Kingdom Hearts II), but the quirk made his character interesting. I have only one complaint:
Why can't he absorb spirits/fiends like Seymour does? They're both unsent. I'd like to have an Auron on my team with boss-like stats...
I love Auron!! He's so awesome. Well I did wonder about it especially when we first met Rin and he said something about Auron having such terrible wounds when he left. I can't wait to play Kingdom Hearts II from the screen caps and trailer he's in your party fighting with you. YAY!

Termyt, have you beat Neslug and Nemesis yet? I had my characters stats through the ceiling...doing like 300,000 damage a turn...and Neslug still beat me.

What does Nemesis look like? I`ve been curious and my cousin said he was the hardest boss in the game.

It's been a while. Are those guys in the arena? I admit, I didn't dig too deeply into the monsters in the arena. Perhaps I will have to go looking for them before I complain too much about the ease of beating bosses.

Both of them are monsters from the arena. Nemesis is the most difficult monster in the game (you must get 10 of every other monster to fight him), having something to the effect of 10,000,000 HP and the ability to do 99,999 damage to all characters.

I want to try that!!!! I'll have to do some more monster catching then =)

He looks like a Behemoth. I fought him and died many times, but I finally succeeded XD!!!!!
He has 1 mil hp or so and yes...he does 99,999 A LOT. Haste, Auto-life, phoenix downs, mega-elixers, mega-ethers, x-potions, celestial weapons, mega-phoenixs, completed sphere grid, HP Break Armor, Damage Break Weapons...all that and it's still tough. This was my strategy.
I had Wakka as my main attacker. When each character (Tidus and Rikku) would get a full overdrive gague they would use Entrust to send it over to Wakka. This way I could run his attack reels and do roughly 50K or so damage. If you get it perfect he will so 12 consecutive attacks. Now as far as defense...haste, and autp-life, also u can try casting protect and shell but it takes time (no protectra or shellra
)...Item wise i had a long of HP and MP boosting stuff like 3 Stars (1 mp per cast) and stamina tonics (double party HP) i got to use them a few times so I had 99,999 hp thru some of the fights. I got a lot of them from stealing and having the rare item abilites after a lof of fighting.
I can't guarantee to win against Nemesis, its all about luck but you can try this and see what you think.

The plot bosses in FFX are easy, except for what'shername and the gate guardian thing with the 6 platforms and mines... Those battles were a pain... Everything after that is easy... Actually, the battle that is consistantly hardest for me no matter how much I level up is the guardian thing at the end of the mountains... The one that uses Curse... man, that battle is hard...
That is just a teaser for the battle arena, though. When you get to the battle arena, it stops being about how leveled up you are and starts becoming about talent and strategy... I love the battle arena, particularly because you can use it to build your characters up with all the rare spheres... I haven't gotten nemesis yet, though... THat's way too much work...
To be on topic, I knew about another character's big surprise, but not Auron's... That was a shock to me...

My strategy in terms of Nemesis. I haven't fought him, but I've seen several breakdowns of battles with him, and I have a bit of experience with killer-bosses (defined as: bosses that do enough damage that they nearly always cause death).
Use Yuna and have her do nothing but Doublecast Auto-life. I'm not sure if you could bring in Aeons to act as meat shields for Nemesis' attacks, but if it works that might be wise, because you're very unlikely to survive them otherwise. Plus, if you used their overdrives you could get in another 99,999 damage. The rest of it would simply be a matter of pounding away at him (Note: Kimahri's Mighty Guard Overdrive could be useful, but I haven't ever tested it). If I recall Nemesis counters Overdrives with Ultima, so if you can do 99,999 with normal attacks, do that instead.
