Ah, the neverending console war..... hey, wait, where is the all of the above option for me? Hmm? Personally, I believe all the sytems pretty much share an equal number of strengths and weaknesses. Just depends on what you want.
Now, if I really have to choose just one, I would pick Gamecube (with no surprise), because I was raised on Nintendo games and am a nostalgia freak.

yes, in a perfect world, we could all have all three systems. but, since we aren't all bill gates, most of us must choose one. while there are days that I wish to play halo or windwaker, playstation just seems to have more variety.
PS, I didn't realize cid(FF7) was that popular, but all the other cool character already seem to be taken. Who do you want me to be?- yuffie!

Well, I like the GameCube more than the PS2, but I like PS2 games more than GameCube ones. But seeing how Games & Console are like "PB & Jelly", I shall have to vote for PS2. Even though it's a peice of crap.[/QUOTE]
that is the main thing I can't understand, how can anyone compare systems without looking at the games. Games are the main things. yes x-box and gamecube technically have better graphic capibilities, but the truth is most games in these systems don't use this. and the companies that do use this normally spend too much money on graphics and lack gameplay. (dead or alive volleyball, everyone?)

I'm just surprised the the PS2 is beating the Gamecube. For some reason a lot of people here like Gamecube...
Anyway, my vote is for the PS2. I own both an Xbox and a PS2, but my favorite is the PS2. Until recently I also had a borrowed Gamecube in my room (the only game I played for it was Super Monkey Ball 2, which became obsolete as soon as Super Monkey Ball Deluxe was released for the Xbox).

I think it's funny when x-box fans defend their system. They always mention halo. It was a fun game, but c'mon, people treat it like a time traveler came from the year 4000 came back in time and gave it to us. it wasn't that great!

I have a PS2 and an Xbox. I currently have been playing my Xbox alot more than my PS2. But that's because I've only had it for a couple months, I'm checking out all the good games that have come out for it in the past 4 years, and Live is such a big factor. But the system that I've had the most fun out of since I got it day one in 2000 would have to be the PS2.

Gamecube for me. I just like the games that are only for Nintendo better than the ones for Sony, though I recently had the chance to play FFIX and Kingdom Hearts and I loved them. But my vote is still for GC.

Even though i don't own one, I had to vote for xbox.
Gamecube is awesome in it's own respect, but xbox hardware is a tad better, Halo 2 is the best action game ever, and the controllers are USB hackable (since they don't make decent controllers for the PC anymore.) what more could one want?
As for playstation, haven't used it enough.

as of now, PS2

I'm not voting based on hardware power.
The Xbox has Halo and Halo 2. Both great games, but that's the system's crutch.
The PS2 has a *ton* of great games. Metal Gears, God Of Wars, etc..
But the GC has all of my old favourites (aside from my SEGA games).
Mario Sunshine, Wind Waker, Metroid Prime, MP2 Echoes, Super Smash Bros Melee, and that new Zelda game.
But I still think the DC is superior.

I think it's funny when people criticize Halo for no other reason than that it is popular. It is an excellent game. It is also not the only reason to buy an Xbox.
The Xbox has many great games. Here are some of my favorites:
1. Ninja Gaiden-Awesome action game. Good graphics, steep (but not unfair) difficulty, and an intereting story. If only there was a way to combine Prince of Persia's puzzles with Ninja Gaiden's combat, we would have a perfect action game.
2. Crimson Skies-Air combat game that leans more toward action than strict simulation. Think Indiana Jones with planes.
3. Guilty Gear X2-Intense 2d fighting game with online play. It also debuted for $20, which is an amazing value.
4. Kingdom Under Fire: The Crusaders-Although few people have heard of it, Kingdom Under Fire is a great action/strategy game with a medieval fantasy setting. The online mode is especially enjoyable, allowing you to build an army over time with which to face other players.
Those are just the games that I have played after having an Xbox for less than 6 months. Other great games include the recently released Jade Empire, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Mech Assault, Dead or Alive, and Unreal Championship 2.
When judging the Xbox, it is also important to note that when a game is released on multiple platforms, the Xbox version will almost always be superior (better graphics, shorter load times, online support). Notable games that fall into this category are Super Monkey Ball Deluxe, Phantasy Star Online Episodes 1&2, Burnout 3, Soul Calibur 2, and Star Wars: Battlefront.
