Final Fantasy VII : Armed and Actiony

The title describes the game in whih most of us FF7 fans eagerly inticipate.
This game resembles DMC in a few ways but looks like an action game and not an RPG......hmmmmmm........ Vincent is the main character and this game takes place one year after FF7: AC. Not that many of us know what to expect because FF7: AC won`t be out in the U.S. (insert Star Ocean 3`s title right here. If you`ve never played Star Ocean 3 nor heard of it look it up on Google and find out).

Anyone know the American release date for this project?

And Shatterheart, please don`t shatter my heart for deleting this and telling me it already exsist.......oooo I get why you`re called that.... :eh:

Please don`t: :bootout:

Just Playin. Let me know what you guys do. Also is it rated M?

Whatever it's rated, I'm buying it. ( ..) Darn you Square for sucking me in with angsty bishounen main characters.

Don't get me worng: I love FF7 and all, but it should DIE.

I'm tired of Square continually trying to milk the title for all it's worth. It needs to end. Make some spin-offs based on other games in the series.

I'll probably buy the game sometime in the future anyways though....

 Amen, Azier. I'd kill to see Square make a side game to FF9 instead. T_T Why must FF7 get ALL the love?

Ya know, I just wis hthey would remake either Crono trigger or FF6 in modern graphics. But no, they seem to have become obsessed with adding things to ffX and FF7......

Exactly! I've been waiting for a sequel/side game to FF9 for years. (FF9 is my personal fave)

An FF7 remake would be alright though.... considering that the graphics in the original are quite outdated even by PSone standards, and it would be very entertaining being able to enjoy it in the style of the newer games....

they acctually mentioned something along the lines of
"will you be remaking ff7?"
"we have our hands full finishing advent children" or something along that line (was an interview done by one of the game sites but i cant remeber what for the life of me now)

Actually, Squenix has been asked multiple times if they were ever remake FFVII for PS2, and every time they say there aren't any plans. It was our very own uc psuedonym that said that remaking FFVII for PS2 would be like printing money, and I tend to agree.

You have to wonder, sometimes...

maybe they're waiting for the next-gen consoles 0.o

yep. i still say modernize ff7 or chrono trigger add bonus content or characters make it all pretty give it good vas and hype it up and then release it with a midnight preorder thing. but to hype it up to this level they must follow the tried and true formula of giving a release date then moving it a year later.

Making remakes is fine and all that jazz, but I'd rather the folks at Square turn their efforts to making new original games.

umm... isn't the game called Dirge of Cerberus?
the official site just went up and the front picture (though there's nothing else) looks absolutely AMAZING!

I know I keep bringing this up whenever there are Square-related threads but I seriously want to see either totally original games or new additions to classics like FF Tactics, Vagrant Story and Chrono.

I saw this website last night and it seems kinda evil and gothic. It freaks me out more than it intersests me.

FF9 should stay where it is. No sequel! Storyline ended perfectly well. FF8-2 would be okay and i`d like to see more originals. You guys have to remember that it doesn`t take two seconds to come up with a perfect storyline.

I`d hate to see an FF1-2 lol. Am I the only one that thinks FF2 and 4 are very similair?

Hmm...according to the site, the game's gonna be for the PS2. >> Has anyone heard any supposed release dates?

Lol. That`s the main reason I made this thread. I wanted to know the rating and the rlease date. I already knew it was for PS2.

release date: in a long time ^^; eheh... *goes off to research* well.. apparently sometime 2005, but we all know how reliable square has been with release dates lately, don't we ;)

but yesh, its gonna be a shooter. I'm interested on how square will do with this one
ohh, info quote from gamespot:
Finally, Square Enix revealed new storyline details on Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII, the PlayStation 2 action title starring FFVII alum Vincent Valentine. The storyline summary that Square Enix provided is below; note that other characters from FFVII will "join" Vincent in his adventure.

"Dirge of Cerberus begins with the sudden appearance of a mysterious group raiding local towns. They are known as the Deep Ground Soldiers (DG Soldiers), a band of warriors driven to hide underground because of the disastrous meteor. Our hero, Vincent Valentine, is somehow connected with these events, yet in what way remains unclear. And when the world is veiled in darkness, it is his revolver that will ring out the dirge...But Vincent won't be alone--he'll be joined by other characters from Final Fantasy VII."

[quote="Kawaiikneko"]release date: in a long time ^^]

Long time? It`ll probably hit America August 2005.

Yep, I saw Cait Sith without the mog so I guess that makes him Sith.

I also heard some sorrowfol runors that

SPOLIER Cloud is Dead. Now for people who have played FF7:Before Crisis this is good news because in that game,-from what I`ve heard- Cloud is an idiot.

Am I the only one who thinks the DG soldiers look like Galabian soldiers drom FF8?

1. Use spoiler tags
2.
And Shatterheart, please don`t shatter my heart for deleting this and telling me it already exsist.......oooo I get why you`re called that....
You have no idea how much comments like that agitate the crap out of me. I locked a thread of yours a while back because you were lazy and did not search around. Threads are locked if they have been done before. Deal. As it is we have had FF-AC,BC, and DoC threads already. But never a stand along DoC. So I will leave this thread open. I understand you love FF but before you make a thread use the search feature.

Sorry Shatterheart, I was just playing. i know, it was my fault that thread was locked.

So do you gain acess to lock threads or do you have to be part of the staff? Also, I liked that Vincent picture you had instea. The one have you have now kind of scares me....my opinion. It`s really your decision.......

So will this game have a turn-based battle system or will you be running around with a revolver or a bustersword. Either ways fine with me.
The screenshots of the ShinRa mansion look haunted. Then again, relyiing the enemies you fight there, I`d guess it is.

A locked thread just can't be posted on. It can still be read.

SPOLIER Cloud is Dead.

Noo nooo nooooooo!!!!! That makes no sense! Cloud is the main character of Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children, which takes place 2 years after the game. But you say this game takes place one year after the game. How can Cloud be dead one year after the game but be alive two years after the game. Now remember, this is Final Fantasy 7 we're talking about, where characters actually die and stay dead. Not FF 10 where they are supposedly dead but randomly come back. *cough cough Seymour cough*

No FF7: DoC takes place One year after Advent Children.

Sorry, but I`m not getting that Spoiler tag thing to work.

[*spoiler] Seymour kept coming back because he was an unsent as well as Auron. So its still stupid but not random.
