It's not like people DON'T KNOW that video game consoles break easily. Especially mod-ed ones.

with the amount of ds fanboyism going around on several boards there has been many lies about the psp.
and if it was modded...come on what would you expect? besides there is a warranty on the thing if it was the companies fault. so it does seem like.
besides what are you going to do toss the thing around? only little kids do that. besides if you have it in the case like its supposed to be when not in use it can take a beating (it got knocked out of my hands by a freind (was an accident but lets say i was mad) and the thing is perfectly fine (its the case that comes with it (the soft one))

<.< hm. A bit off topic, but I've never had a Sony console break on me. My Playstation is still in excellent working order.

Nothing was tougher then the original NES. Man that thing took so many floor dives when I was a kid. Someone was always tripping over the controller cords when the controlers were left out...it took a licken and kept on ticken. Still works to this day.

Bleeding avatar, huh? Oh, well it only bleeds for people who feel guilty about gaming. To most, he is not bleeding. Repent volt, come back to the TV and consols and maybe all can still be forgiven.

Yep! My NES and SNES have gone through a lot and they're still going strong. >> The SNES had a bottle of nail polish remover spilled on it, and the only problems I have with it is cartridge memory getting wiped out once in a blue moon. I'd say that's pretty good. >> I doubt my PS2 will be getting that kind of longevity.

eh nothing can beat wipeout pure or lumines so much better. the ds is good just doesnt have many games out. i seriously dont understand why people bash on the psp so much. ninety percent of the people trashing on it dont even have one. so many stinking lies or things blown out of proportion. i still cant wait till they finish the psp emulator so you can play nes and snes games on it

Or they simply feel that gaming should be on a TV with a consol. Don't feel bad though, I don't hate the PSP because its Sony. I actually like Sony. I just happen to loathe hand held gaming. I think if your somewhere that you can't use a consol you should probably be paying attention...hand held gaming...at least in my opinion...just lets people vegi out in life when they could be enjoying somthing other then gaming. But, then agian...thats just my humble opinion.

i wasnt talking about that, your of the oppinion that gaming should stay on the counsles and thats cool. what im talking about is ds fanboys making up lies and spreading them around because they hate for some reason the psp and want it brought down. i can give you many many examples if you wish. i admit the psp has a few faults so does the ds. people tend to magnify and make up problems for the other system, more so for the bashing of psp then the ds. it just drives me up the wall, exactly like the fable of the fox and the grapes

Well to be fair, this has gone on forever. Long before the DS or the PSP. Nintendo, Sega, Xbox and Sony fans always try to crap on each other.

That is your opinion Volt. I did not see Nintendo helping fans out with backwards compatibility. I saw them holding a hand out for more cash with each system though.

yeah its been going on forever but when will people start giving out facts instead of crap? its just annoying to see people act ignorantly like that. i dont like the gc that well but i acknowledge it as a good system and it has a couple good games. i dont make up crap about it... it just is like "OHNNNOES!!!11 IZT A NON N1NT3ND0 HANDHELD>>> LYNCHZ IT" its kind of frustrating

Actually I bought my PS2 because it was Sonys machine. I have never had to replace either my Ps1 or my Ps2. I think people are rough on eletronics...in which case they deserve to replace them 4 or 5 times. Sony got my money when they did the backwards compatability bit. Being able to play the older games on the new system was nothing short of brilliant. Btw, I hate online gaming too...so I could care less about online stuff. As far as graphics go...I don't see where your getting that Gamecube has better graphics.

My brother works for EA. He says they really prefer the xbox over the PS2 when it comes to creating games and only tolerated the PS2 because of the market.
(If you're interested, he's working on developing games for the 'classic Bond' right now: The Sean Connery Bond, not the Pierce Bronsan)

Please Volt that's pretty sad if you've bought two PS2's because you wasted your money. First off the first gen PS2's do have the disc read errors. I got mine on launch day and it did it and all I had to do was call Sony, complain, and they fixed it for free. And that was over two years ago well after warranty. Every now and then it has a hiccup but other than that it's fine.
This is just crap from the DS fanboys. But obviously since it has a big LCD screen and a disc drive it's going to be a little more fragile than your Gameboy of yesteryear. Sheesh do the math people.

Crap happens. I had my mem card of my PS1 get erased when a buddys grandfather slammed a door and the plug fell out of the wall. *shrug* Thats why if you have an important file you have 2 copys on 2 cards. Nothing says when you buy it that it will last forever.

Frankly, I'm really getting sick of this fanboy stuff…
Perhaps you guys should check the date on that article. November of last year? That’s pretty old information. That was a time when I was very skeptical and unexcited about the PSP. A lot has changed since it’s Japanese release.
Technically, the Nintendo DS and PSP aren’t made to directly compete and compare with each other. Nintendo openly said the DS just isn’t for everyone, yet it sold like mad, because it was a “Gameboyâ€
