Tekken 5

I have to do it guys. I looked for it, but didn't see it.

Not too long ago, Ewan Cooey picked this game up. We played Tekken 3 until we were dizzy. Until we had played it clear to death. We got a secondhand copy of Tag, and did the same thing to it. Then we got 4.

Which, so far as the Tekken series is concerned, would have to be the worst yet for the technology available. The graphics were awesome, but there was just something about the game that made it harder to play. And the fact that the throws were all on the same attack buttons didn't help any.

Then, we come to the awesome Tekken 5. Granted, it's graphics aren't as smooth and beautiful as 4, but it has that Tekken magic all over again. Jin goes back Mishima as Devil Jin, Jun gets a replacement in the form of Asuka, and then we have some new guys out of the blue. Feng Wei and Raven.

Old heroes and favorites are showing up. Bruce, whom Byran Fury originally replaced, is back. Baek Doo San, Hwoarang's teacher wakes up. Wang Jinrei, the old man is back. Lessee.... The sumo, was'sname. I should've done this with the game in front of me. A few other old favs, I think.

As was expected, Jin's victory was the actual storyline. Jin's victory was also the actual storyline out of 3. However, the victory they take the storyline from on this one is kinda iffy, IMO. Devil Jin's is most probable.

Endless arenas are back! They took them out of 4, putting walls around everything, but they return with a vengeance in 5. Breaking stuff up is a little smoother, but not quite as effectual as in 4. Smashing the floor with your opponent is cool, but there's only ever one smashed spot at a time, I think. Does it keep broken props alive even if you break something else, such as the statue in the church? I haven't noticed whether it does or not. Whenever I broke the statue, it was always the finishing touch.

Oh, yes, and MOKUJIN! Mokujin the tree stump-puppet has returned! And he's just as awesome as ever.

The Character Combat Moves have been re-done so they are smoother. It's impossible for them to be NOT as smooth as tekken 4 (which used the older motion capture moves)

Well yeah, don't forget jin Doesn't WANT to be a devil, he's trying to fight it and over-come it, which is why he ran away after tekken 3.

Yes, the combat moves are smoother/cooler, but the characters still look kinda out of place in the arenas on this one. I've got it running right next to me. Just beat Yoshimitsu. In 4, they seemed to fit much more naturally into the environments. That's what makes 5 seem worse in that area. It's still better as a game, though.

Well, Lee was back for 4, first as Violet, but he's always Lee on the last level, no matter which of his alter egos you choose. He's cool, but I tend toward Fury.

I looked up the Japanese website for it...:sigh: true eyecandy

I have yet to actually GET it, though I sure want to. Just a problem, namely money. I want to spend it on so many things at the moment and $50 is way too much for my pay. Namely, something(who knows what) for doing chores at the house.

Actually, they can. Armor King is very dead. Also, Heihachi is still alive. He's the fireball you see heading toward the upper-right corner of the screen when the Jack with the bomb blows up.

That's what they did with Kazuya! And he got thrown into a volcano!
