Technically speaking you wont be able to have a PhotoShop Protocol in your hands unless you print it out and clutch it. Other than that its a cyber thing.
Just kidding.

ok here is what i think of the psp
pros- insane graphics insane insane insane graphics. problems are fixed from what they where in japan (no more eject of umd nor faulty square button) there is no word to describe the looks of it besides sexy. its screen is HUGE its a geeks dream! i got wipeout pure and its really really cool. also plenty of cool gadgets come with it. the speakers are awesome. and its way more erogonamic then the ds (man those points on the sides (you know its a box shape right) hurt my hands, but it may have been due to me having huge hands) oh and i almost forgot to mention, since i preordered i got a spider man 2 umd, and lets say this its exactly the same as the dvd version!!!!!!!
cons- load times... they are better then some games on the psx but they are still present. a huge instruction book that NEEDS to be read. the thing is super complex. and i dont mean that lightly, its not easy to figure out without reading the manual for it. no usb cable to transfer files (i happen to have one but still) also battery life is shorter then the ds's (that's to be expected with moving parts but its still a con)

aaah lucky you got one. I heard rumors that some people had Dead Pixels witht heir units did you have that kind of problem?

dead pixels are a problem with any lcd screen. tvs anything. and i did the unthinkable i twisted my psp like they did in that thing and it DOES NOT HAPPEN. the umd drive has a little latch that i can see breaking if you hit it hard enough (like a cd opener and closer latch) i can also see if that latch is damaged a twist would eject the umd.
also after having it a day i do have a annoying thing, b ut i wouldnt want them to change it because its part of the coolness. the psp (buttons and the psp itself) is made out of this see through plastic with black plastic (for the sides) and the lsd screen underneath it. its one continous peice with the holes for the buttons. and it smudges...very....easily. they gave you with the psp a really nice cleaning cloth thing and it helps, because it gets dirty quick.
overall the psp is solid though i wouldnt want to test its durability.
and i would recomend the psp to anyone. its a chunk of change and you will most certianly want a bigger memory card (im so putting anime on it and taking it to the church camp this summer) its a really cool system and the umd movies look the same as the dvds. the prices on games are higher then the ds games (40-50) but there basically ps2 games so it makes sense.... so i would suggest it to anyone, yeah its got small problems, yeah it costs and arm and a leg, but is it worth it? heck yeah!

Kawaiikneko... thank you for finding that.
oh no problem, just doing my civil duty XDD
hmmm I think I'll get a psp then when the price goes down >.> $250 freaking bucks.... my dad was talking about our possible spring break trip while we were at Best Buy and he was like "hey! We can either go see The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway or buy you a psp!"

youll definetly be waiting for a while. sony would be losing money if they sold the psp at 100 due to the price of the equipment in it

After checking out the solid reviews at Gamespot for the PSP games, I'm stoked about the PSP! -Yes, ya'll read that right.
Since, I finally got a job last week at Blockbuster, I'll be picking it up a the second week of May, right after my Exams. I'm thinking about picking up Metal Gear Ac!d, Wipeout, Lumines, and Twisted Metal with it.
Hey, desperado, how's the D-pad feel compared to the DS?
PostPosted: Mon Mar 28, 2005 2:49 am
by desperado
other then the dpad is made of the same material as the plastic layering the screen and top of the body? fine. its a little slick if you dont wipe of your hands but its perfectly responsive. it feels like a normal ps2 dpad thats made out of a different material

Yes the PSP does have much more of a 'wow factor' than the DS. I went out and picked up the PSP on the release day same as the DS. However, my luck must be legendary. The first PSP i got ended up having a dead pixel. I didn't notice until i was playing it at night, in the dark and the screen was black as it was loading the race. So i return that and get home with my new one plug it up and notice this one has an air bubble. -_- bubbles are worse than dead pixels.
that aside it is very cool. i got Wipeout Pure and Metal Gear Ac!d with mine. they all come with Spider-man 2, since all that has been released in the US are 'value packs' (a value for sony).
the games do look great. also being able to load music and video/pictures on to the memory card make it just better to carry around with you than the DS in my opinion. (not that i really have to choose having both).
my only concern is keeping the screen in great shape since it can't close like the DS.
the price is high right now. yet for all it does, to me it is worth it.
next thing to get? a much larger memory stick so that i can load plenty of music and fansubs on to it. =D

Handheld gaming. Blah. (wasent that a nice contribution to the conversation?) Get a PS2 Mr. Smarty Pants. It has far more uses. (dvd player, cd player etc) Plus the endless library of games you can get for it. Don't give into the darkside of handhelds. It leads to destruction...and carpal tunnel.
