Welp, it's out now. Unfortunately, I won't be able to get it for some time. For those who have played it, what do you think so far? It's gotten some really good reviews. So far, the only bad things said about it are mainly that it's way too hard.

I pre-ordered it... but I won't be able to get it until Friday. Still, I got a shirt for it. I can't wait to play it!! ^_^

I sure hope it is better than the last game...DMC 2 was really hard to digest and Dante was just so darn serious in that game.

I hope the game is good. I enjoyed the first one, though it was a bit difficult for me... i played on and off and never really got to develope any techniques, and I had to beat the game without using any purchased combos or stuff like that. So it was hard for me. I still liked it.

Well, if you thought that was hard, then you might be driven to the point of insanity by DMC3. It's supposed to be one of the hardest games ever created(even harder than Ninja Gaiden).

Judging from all the trailers I've seen, the Dante of DMC2 is no more. DMC3's Dante is even more cocky and smart-aleck that than DMC1's.

for the US version at least, Ill try and play it once I get back but this is roughly what the comparison is.

US Heaven or Hell = JPN Heaven or Hell
US Dante Must Die = (supposed "new challenge")
US Hard = JPN Dante Must Die
US Normal = JPN Hard
US Easy = JPN Normal

I like the difficulty. It really sucks being able to run through games like they're nothing. Right now I'm on the US hard and it is hard! But really all it amounts to is the fact that I'm pretty careless in game fights.... Still, the up levels are murder! Those blasted angel looking things are just pure evil!

Anyway, Dante 3 is a piece of work alright. I nearly fell off my seat at some of the things that came things that came out of his mouth. \(^o^)/

Wow...this was totally gravedug. I like this game very much and it rocks my face off. I like it even better than DMC1. It's hardcore goodness. I still need to finish it...

What do you mean 'gravedug?'

I think Kkun was trying to say this thread was dead.... but Kkun should know better; nothing can kill Dante!

;) Dante rocks, and I know he is kick butt goodness and all that jazz but I really wish a certain character in this game could be played in her own adverture.

After hearing the Podcast, I'm "gravedugging" this again.

This game (or namely, the Special Edition one) is going on my list of "Must Get Games When I Finally Manage to Obtain My Own PS2."

The thing that finally turned me was, of all things, this:

Uh oh! Watch out when Link is going to find you gravedigging!

(I am kidding.)

Special Edition is listed as a PS2 "Greatest Hits," which automatically means it is $20 or lower. Hard to miss it when you see it.

Actually, that man recreated some of the moves in the game quite faithfully (slower, but hey, he is human after all).

I'm gravedigging this one. I have something important to say:

I bought it again. I'm going to replay it this week before school starts.

Yay me.

Also, if you can, be sure to get the special edition. The few extra features are more than worth it.

You know, I was going to get the special edition but then I heard they scaled the difficulty back on it and made it easier. That kind of takes all the fun out of it, so I bought the regular version.

I haven't really noticed the difficulty change at all.

Granted, I have been playing as Vergil the whole time, so... maybe I'm not qualified to speak on subjects of difficulty?

All they did was add a new easier mode. They claim they added a new "very hard" mode, but it's the same as the hard mode in the original addition. I think it was a smart move. Begginers will be better able to play it, and sadists will still be able to play the harder modes(let's face it, you have to be a sadist to play some of the latter modes).

Compared to the original...

Special: easy=
Original: none

Special: normal=
Original: easy

Special: hard=
Original: normal

Special: very hard=
Original: hard

Special: Dante Must Die=
Original: same

Special: Heaven of Hell=
Original: Same

Bad move Kkun. You're missing alot of cool stuff(Bloody Palace, playable Virgil, the ability to watch the cutscenes at any time, a new boss fight, and turbo mode). The new checkpoint save system makes it easier, but you have the option not to use it. When a game forces you to start a level over after you die, I consider it more frustrating than hard. I'm glad they changed it.
