Hey, whoose Harvest Moon fanatics?
I can safely say I'm one. I have all the SNES releases, Gameboy releases, Harvest Moon 64 and a Wonderful Life and my all time fav Harvest Moon game (and my all time favorite video game) Back to Nature.
Such a great series ^_^

I too fell in love with the Harvest Moon series. My first encounter was when I went to a friend's house for his birthday and he got Harvest Moon 64. Hardly a week had past and I had bought it as well.
Ever since I've played what ever one I could get my hands on. I wanted to play Back to Nature, I need to go find it. Isn't it the one for the PS1?
I also have A Wonderful Life and I must say that is is the most repetitive I've played. Not enough happens, the days seem too long to me, and they took out much of the beloved festivals (at least I haven't seen any yet). I've gotten to the third year I think and it just seems to drag.
But HM64, that game rocked like crazy. It had lots of festivals and many different things to encounter everyday.

The only version I've played is Friends of Mineral Town for gameboy, but I really enjoyed it. Managed to get one girl's hearts to full, got my horse so I could ride it, was getting really rich... I love the game. Probably was only 3 years into it before I got onto doing other things and kinda forgot about it tho.
very cool game. I tried some of the previous ones, but I couldn't get into them. They seemed a lot harder than Friends of Mineral Town.

A Wonderful Life has good graphics and a intresting twist tot he series. Also alot more features, however they changed the amount of bachelorettes from the usual 5 to 3, cut down the number of villagers (however, more do appear over the years), thier are no "festivals" unless you trigger them, and I find the live stock part a bit complicating. Also the town is small compared to the huge town in Back to Nature.
I can seriously spend days playing Back to Nature. My game got accdiently erased one late night. I was in year 8 with every single thing in the game and tons of money. I was kinda "mad".
Is there any more Harvest Moon games released? I'd like to see one with the graphics of AWL but similar to Back to Nature.

I don't have it but from what I read when it came out, you can't get married and focuses on management. I think half of the fun of the game is wooing the girls.

The only ones I've played are Harvest Moon 2 for Game Boy (fairly repetitive, it was fun at the time though) and Friends of Mineral Town. I REALLY like FoMT, I ended up marrying Ann and had a kid with her. ^^
I tried AWL for Gamecube, and I didn't like it. Agreed, the livestock thing was complicated, and you couldn't just put crops in a shipping bin...you had to sell them to individual people (or there was that one dude who came by every so often...but either way it was too much of a hassle). Also, the clock doesn't stop inside buildings! That REALLY irritated me. I think I could forgive everything else if they hadn't changed that.

Interesting twist? Forgive me for being ignorant, but are you referring to the fact that you are required to get married before the end of the first year? If so, I hardly call that an interesting twist.

She's referring to the fact that you and everyone around you actually grow older as the game progresses through the years. The marrying within the year was kind-of odd.
No one's answered my question yet... Is Back To Nature for PS1 or PS2?

What was the name of the PS2 one? Was it Save the Homeland? In that one you can't get married. It was a dumb idea to remove the marriage thing from it, if you ask me. It's one of the biggest draws of the game.
I have A Wonderful Life, and I think it's pretty good. Definitely one of the longest games out there. I had Back to Nature once, but in a moment of moneyless gaming weakness, I sold it for another game.

Uh...Hitokiri's a guy... ^^;;
Anyway, if that's what he was talking about, I guess I'll give him that.
To answer your question, since I own Back to Nature I can safely say it is for PS1. That's the one Friends of Mineral Town was loosely based on. And as for Chosen Raven's remarks, you can't get married in Save the Homeland from what I understand, and it's not really a very good one.

-_-;;;;;;;;;;;;; - if I get confused once more as a girl, I'm either gonna put on a guy avatar or return my "I AM A GUY!!!" sig back on...
Well PS2 can play both PS2 and PS1 games so Back to Nature is for both kinda.
That's exactly what I was talking about a twist, Kammerite. Unlike in other Harvest Moons, you actually, physically age in AWL as well as your wife, other villagers, and your son. That's one thing I loved that your son would grow up and also took after your wife a bit (the one blond girls kid looks alot like kid Naruto
)
I liked alot of stuff about AWL but it got repetative, it was hard to get money, and it didnt have the allure as Back to Nature had ::goes back to play BTN::

If your memory card is deleting your games, it may have to do with how you insert it into your system. Make sure your PS is turned on before you insert the card, and always take the card out before you turn it off. My memory card hasn't been accidently erased since I started doing this. I don't think PS2 memory cards have the accidental erase defect.

My deleating story was I in Year 8, married to Karen, my kid was grown up, lots of fun stuff. The other game was my best friends who didnt touch it for a year..he didn't want to marry however he could of gotten married to Popori. So I decided to get it married. However, I accidently saved over my file with his file the eve to the wedding and in panic, I turned of the playstation thus damaging both mine and his saved games
I'm restarting right now and on Year 1 in the end of Summer. I have a Green Heart with Anne.

For those who have Back to Nature, I found something veerrryy intresting. I went to Mineral Beach in Summer after a Hurricane and there was a cut scene.
You find a bottle with a note inside and Kai (the one over-seas dude) and strikes up a conversation asking you if you're going to stay in thid village forever. If you say no, you're relationship points will be alot for Kai.
However, if you choose yes, which I did, he gives you a "Love Potion" which is actually perfume. Give this to the girl you have a crush on and it will most likely (not guaranteed though), up your heart level. I gave it to Anne and she was at green. It automatically wnet up to yellow after I gave it to her.

Yeah HM64 had ALOT of typos and bugs and stuff. But it's still a good game.
I just saw on Marvelous Entertainments Website that two new HM games will be released intended for girls.
Harvest Moon: Another Wonderful Life in which you take control of a girl in the same village as AWL and Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town for Girls which switches it to a girl (so you have woo Kai, Rick, Gray, The Doctor, or Cliff 0_o )

I have Back to Nature and it's an alright game. I can't play these kind of games for too long without getting bored of them but they're a nice diversion from everything else.

The longest I have played a HM game was for...::thinks:: close to 24 hours which is rare for me to spend so much time doing one thing.
So question (and sorry for the girl fans of the series) but whoose your favorite HM girl? Karen would proably be on my top but I also like Anne, Popori, or Celia from AWL.

AWL: Celia. I just liked her disposition and her attitude. She always seemed cheery.
64 and FoMT: Popouri and Elli. For one I liked Popouri's name and she just seemed nice. As for Elli, it was her cheery attitude and her kindness that made me choose her.
... wow, I'm talking about this seriously and as if they were real.

*raises hand up high* Me! Me! I'm a Harvest Moon fan and proud of it! ^_^ I played mostly all of them except for the girl versions of the games (minus "Harvest Moon 3" for the Game Boy Color. That doesn't count. That's a girls' and boys' game.)...
My favorite game is tied between "Harvest Moon 64" and "Back to Nature." I just played 64 for a little while, but I fell in love with it. I must get a N64 some day to play that game...
"Back to Nature" didn't have super graphics or so many options, but it had marriage, kids, and festivals (my favorite things in the games).
My favorite girl... well... That's too hard... I have a favorite in all of them. ^^; I think I liked the church girl (Mary) in the first game, the nurse (Elli) in "Back to Nature" (64), Gwen from "Save the HomeLand" (even if you can't marry in that game >_>), and Celia in "A Wonderful Life."
The boys... If I played the girl version... I would pick... Gray or Cliff in "Back to Nature" and Rock in "A Wonderful Life". Uhh... Yup. ^^;
I'm looking forward on "Poem of Happiness" (?). It looks like they are tying up all the characters in the previous games in one game. Farming seems to be not the objective in this one. It is collecting songs to earn a farm. This is going to be interesting... (I don't like the graphics though...)

How does this game work? I`ve heard of it, never saw sreenshots. It sounds like an action manga to me.
From what I`ve heard, it sounds like the Sims.
