the place where i ussually got stuck was in the stupid robot factory later in the game... i will suggest this now everything in the future for the most part is long and annoying. i suggest going to a online faq site and getting a guide for there. and if your talking about magus's castle just kill everything possible to cause flea and slash to spawn on there stools.

Heh...Chrono Trigger. My favorite RPG ever.
I didn't find too much of the future to be annoying...well, maybe the Lab sections at the beginning of the game. I found the Reptite Castle (and the subsequent cave to get the rainbow shell) to be much more irritating. Especially those flying apes and Megasaurs...oh, and that one room with the invisible teleporters... ><
That, and the Ocean Palace. Black Omen's pretty rough too.

Same Thing.
Heh...I know it was a joke, but...FF2 is NOT FF4...well, it kinda is, but not really...
See, when FF4 was brought over to the US, it was renamed FF4, but it was also watered down to make it easier for American gamers. On Final Fantasy Chronicles (which Shiroi mentioned and I will also suggest it), it was restored to its original difficulty level, meaning that it's harder than people who played FF2 for the SNES. I played the ROM of FF2 and noticed when I started playing FF4 that some characters had command abilities they didn't have in the SNES version (such as Palom and Porom's Twin command).
Other than that, it's a great game. Best of the SNES RPGs, in my opinion, though Super Mario RPG is a close second (sorry, FF6 fans, Super Mario RPG is just so much more fun XP).

I was playing this recently and just finished getting all of the different possible endings. I like how the different things you do in the game actually change the outcome.

I enjoyed this game. It was definitely worth playing two times, simply because of Saved Game + (early in the game, the Rainbow kills bosses instantly). Overall, it had a high factor of simple fun, as well as numerous secrets and the oft-spoke-of multiple endings.

Ah...here it is, my favorite game of all time. I have played many games but the name Chrono Trigger and the game itself, bear important meaning to me. It was also the first game I ever played way over 100 hours in one session and then turned around and played it some more.
I still prefer the SNES version, since there are no loading probs., but all I have is the PSX version which comes with FF 4.

I didn't have much trouble with it...
After starting a New Game+ and getting Marle, immediately go to the right transporter and inspect the shining dot with Marle in your party. Use Crono to fight and Marle to heal.
I beat it in one attempt.

CDLviking pointed out one way to get it (the much easier way... though I did it with only Crono, which is trickier). The other way:
Defeat the version of Lavos as he appears when you first battle him (the time Crono is supposed to die). He's basically the same, except that his first form pulls out some very nasty attacks. Provided you have a solid team (personally, I suggest Crono, Ayla and Robo), he shouldn't be too tough.
That was my prefered team as well. It really is doable with just about anyone, as long as you have a good supply of Elixirs/Megalixirs.

If it is your first time at the End of Time, then you need to go back to the year 1000 A.D. There should be a gate for 65,000,000 B.C., 2600 A.D., and one for 1000 A.D.

Chrono Trigger - I loved that game. It was probably the first RPG I ever played - and I loved it. The storyline, the multiple endings, what they did what those old-school graphics --- excellent.
I'm sorry I can't remember enough particulars to help you out, Anbu, but I did just want to jump in and reaffirm the awesomeness of CT.

He's right. Right after the future section where Robo joins and you get to the end of time, you're supposed to go back to 1,000 AD. There, you end up in Medina Village, which is a village full of Mystics. They talk about the Heckran in a cave nearby, so go through that cave and fight the Heckran...then the Heckran mentions that Magus should've killed the humans four hundred years ago. So, back to 600 AD you go! I hope that helps. You won't be going to 65,000,000 BC for a while, even though the portal is there right off the bat.

It used to be my fav RPG game until it get kocked down on Tales of Symphonia. Nevertheless, this is a great game. Fun memories and a great soundtrack ::jams to Frog's theme::

I brought this up in previous Chrono Trigger threads, but I guess there's no harm in mentioning it here as well. After I beat the game with most of the endings (not too difficult, if you know where they are), there was only one thing left to do: hex editing. I disapprove of this as a way to beat games, but afterwards it can be enjoyable.
Some of it was pretty simple (infinite power tabs, etc), but there are some really interesting things you can manipulate. One thing I never took the time to figure out was how damage values are stored. If I had done so I could have made Crono's "Confuse" do 9999 per blow, equaling 39,996 damage... enough to kill the Lavos Core in one attack. It would have been amusing, but probably not worth the effort.

Ahh ChronoTrigger... The very first RPG I've played. I downloaded the Snes Rom, then when it was released on PS2 w/ FF I bought it. I would have to say that both C-trigger and C-Cross are two of my personal favorites!
Anyways, like many have alread stated, I too got stuck in the future a few times. The worst time I got stuck was searching for this one guy, I think I needed to get some beef jerkey from him so I could give it to another. It was towards the end or middle-end. Though it's been awhile so I may be totally wrong, but I believe that was the case. Trigger was also the first game I had to use my brain to advance. What really sucks is I've only beaten it once, and only seen one of the endings. Although I've beaten Chrono Cross a few times, so I was able to see a few other endings. Both those games will always remain close to my heart- pure classics

I remember being stuck at that part for a while... I just wasn't sure what to do. If you already have Frog motivated and in your party (you might want to get him magical abilities as well), your next step is going to the Magic Cave, which he'll open with the Masamune. It is a place you could enter on the world map, but were immediately blocked; if I remember properly it's SE of Denadoro Mountain.

yeah your right uc. and next step is magus's castle. now that is a hard place, not confusing just many hard battles and a super hard boss.
but to beat magus you just have frog do a physical attacks constantly (no specials just a normal sword hit) to weaken magus's magic defence and just cast the element his sheild is on and just keep doing it by keeping up with the changes in the sheild and such. after the sheild is down just wail on him until after he casts his ultimate attack then heal after that and repeat till he is out of hp

I agree with uc. Before you go to Magic Cave, head back to the end of time and get Frog magic...you can learn a few decent double techs with Marle if you do. Keep in mind that the Magic Cave is called that for a reason...physical attacks do very little damage to the enemies inside, you're going to have to use spells on them...so make sure you have some Ethers stocked up.

well ive been told that in final fantays chroniclals, Chrono Trigger lags way too much. As in, I heard. Never experienced. And it was taken by multiple accounts, so maybe it was their cd scratched or playstation or something
