Goodness, this looks so out of this world cool. I've watched video and such...

I heard that there's an arcade 'round here that has Half-Life2. I can't wait to go play it ^_^

So, anyone else played or such?

I have it. I bet I could have beaten it by now, if I had really wanted to. And believe me, I do, but I usually spend my time on other things. Dont let that statement make you think I don't love the game to pieces, though. It's awesome! Now time to get past those blue crushy walls... *goes off to play*

PC Gamer was corect with their 98% Editor's Choice. The best game ever made... Think there will be a Half Life III? More than like I suppose... I need to play it again. It's annoying that you can't have different profiles, for my saved games kept disappearing.

98%? That seems a bit rich! Maybe good quality games are so rare these days the the reviewers plug games like Half Life 2 and Halo 2 so much. But they didn't alter the genre of FPS, they only introduced new pyschics, better graphics, vehicles etc. What about good gameplay? That seems to be forgotten these days infavour of games with pretty graphics and next to no originality. Games like "Thief", they reinvented the FPS genre and created a genre within itself "First Person Sneaker." These other games seem to get to much praise to me. It just caters to the masses, intellegent gaming is becoming increasingly rare. Halo bored me to tears, so I don't think I'll try the second. I may try Half Life 2 some day as it looks quite good and I enjoyed the first one a bit. But still they aren't the masterpieces people make them out to be. Big profit doesn't necessarily mean big fun, good gameplay etc. It means most games are becoming increasingly violent but aimed at 12 year olds in their gaming style. Sorry, I had to spiel. Its all my own opinion ofcourse.

would say hl 2 had a great engine, phisics and graphics but i was severly disapointed with the story and the multiplayer. i give it a 24,

after some mods come out im sure it'll reach a 99 :thumb:

The first Half-Life DID revolutionize the FPS genre. From what I've learned, Half-Life2 is basically a perfectly evolved version.

Also, you have to think about the Gravity Gun. "The physics in Half-Life2 are better than real life!"-My friend's response when he first played the game.

May I suggest, head over to http://www.gamespot.com an dread the "Final Hours Of Half-Life2" article to get an idea of what Valve went through.

Gabe Newell has said they're already working on it, and should* be out within three years at most. Supposedly you will be able to play as Alyx, maybe we'll hear Gordon speak for once?

*: take that with a grain of salt, this is Valve we're talking about :hits_self.

That would be pretty cool, I guess. I would really love to be Dog! Wouldn't that be so awesome? Dog is my favorite character.

it would be awesome to play as a combine, or barney. Like in HL1 opposing force and blue shift
