Do you mean Final Fantasy Unlimited? That is an anime (that I know nothing about). Otherwise, this should go in Gamers Galore, as it is about games. If you mean the anime tell me and I will move it back.

I like final fantasy 6, then my second favorite is final fantasy 4, then my third favorite is final fantasy tactics, then my fourth favorite is final fantasy 5, then my fifth favorite is final fantasy 7, then my 6th favorite is final fantasy tactics advanced, then my 7th favorite is final fantasy 3. Then my 8th favorite is final fantasy tactics 1.

I feel that the rest of the final fantasy's can just die.

Posting in gaming forum asking if anyone likes Final Fantasy is like going to a food club and asking people "Do you like food?"

Of course people like Final Fantasy.

And yes, I like Final Fantasy, despite the amazing amount of crazy fanboys it seems to produce.

Y'know, I've come to realize something in the past few days.

FF6 is not my favorite Final Fantasy game.

I've played through it twice. Actually, not even twice. More like one and a half times. Maybe that's because it's on Playstation and the horrible loading times were a factor, but maybe not.

My favorite FF game would have to be...Final Fantasy Tactics.

I've played through the game about fifteen or twenty times, and am preparing to start up yet another playthrough. Yes, there's nothing quite like beating up your own party members for JP.

Final Fantasy Tactics is now officially my favorite Final Fantasy game. FF6 comes in second.

yeah, I'm definitely a huge fan of FF. FF7 is still my most beloved game to this day; I first played it when I was 13 and it just knocked me flat. FF6 and FF9 are probably tied with second. I like the rest too, but I find those three the most amazing. I don't like the MRPG's, though - I really hope they don't continue making online final fantasies, or I'll be very very sad.

im sure that ff6 is actually the most likes, especially among people who are older. And majority of older people never play video games. But they might go like "oh yeah, i remember final fantasy 6. Yeah it was my favorite, but i dont play that anymore" and they person's probably like 30 by now.

why would they make more? they're just going to continue to update 11. Making one is costly enough as it is, there's no way they would make another anytime soon. At least not with the FF franchise.

So I can mark you down as "no offical opinion" then, Mr.SmartyPants?

Final Fanatasy IX gave us Jawa-boy (at least that's what I re-named him) - how could you go wrong with that?

Still, FFVII is still my favorite game to date. Sure, being a terroist in the beginning is a bit of a turn off, but the game recovers nicely and has one of the best story lines and games systems ever.

FFXII is due out soon, and no worries - it isn't online.

I disagree. I made a poll here, and someone else made a poll in Guild of Redeemed Gamers, and on both polls, FFVII was the favorite by far. You could make excuses...the FF6 fans didn't vote, even though there are more of them, there are more FF6 fans in real life than on the internet...and so on. I think that FFVII is (and probably will remain) the most popular Final Fantasy.

Not true. FFXII is already almost done. They will make more because yes, it does cost a lot to make it, but they will more than certainly make it up in sales. EVERY Playstation Final Fantasy (except possibly X-2) is a greatest hit, meaning they have sold more than one million copies. Square Enix knows Final Fantasy sells. Much like Simpsons, I don't see the Final Fantasy series going anywhere anytime soon.

i mean on a world wide scale, like take a poll of every single person in the world or something.

Whew, that's such a relief. I didn't think they would stop making PSX games, but I was still worried.. thanks for clarifying.

Fanboys can be kinda annoying, but they're usually still harmless and benign - why is that a "very bad thing"?

i have played them all but the online FF, since i play iRO. FFVII is my choice. oh yes... so much by far, i only really played thru it once while i have played 3 and 6 thru more times. yet 7 was something. yet, i guess i thought that with each new final fantasy. XD the start of 6 dazed me it was so good. @o@ (at the time at least) however with characters like Cloud and Sephiroth, CG and 3-D worlds. million-point monsters. i played them all 7 is my choice.

Also as stated there are 4 FFVII tie-ins coming out this coming year. besides the movie Advent Children, Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII (for mobile phones), Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII for the PSP and Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus for the PS2. Oh, Thank you Squaresoft.... i mean Square Enix. <_<

See, Mr. SP? I knew you'd come up with some lame excuse to why 6 lost. Just admit it! Six is good, but it's not the best in the eyes of the majority!

Yeah...I don't see ANY sequels or prequels to six, dude. Whaddya say to that, HUH?! If six was the most popular, wouldn't Square-Enix be making sequels to that one?

BOO YAH! That's a point for me!

There's just so many FF7 fanboys. That's why they are milking all they can out of FF7. It has nothing to do with being a better game. Yes, 7 is the most popular due to so many people being "0MG CLOUD IZ S0 MYSTERIOUS? AND SEPHIROTH IS SO BAAAAD". 7 is undoubtedly more popular, but not necessarily better. 7 just happened to come out at the right time (good economy in both america and japan, and a fresh, new popular system).

Not true. FFXII is already almost done. They will make more because yes, it does cost a lot to make it, but they will more than certainly make it up in sales. Please read who I quoted Kaemmerite. I said that making more online Final fantasies would be too costly. I said that there won't be anymore online FF's, not FF in general.

Ah. My apologies for the misunderstanding, Chichiri. Having read the original quote more clearly, I understand what you meant better, and I agree. They probably won't make any more online FF games.

And I agree that FF7 is overrated. As I said before, I am a fan of Final Fantasy Tactics now and forever. However, I was merely trying to prove a point that FF7 is the most popular, that is why they are milking it as best they can. If FF6 was more popular, they would be milking that one; however, since they are not, the only logical conclusion is that 7 is more popular than 6.

I'll field this one.

Actually, there are a great deal of people who enjoy FF8. The graphics were incredible, the music was awesome, the character models were realistic, and the storyline was pretty good. Plus the Chocobo Forests RULED.

However, 8 had a lot of things that you either loved or you hated, there was no inbetween on. For example, getting paid a salary instead of getting gil from defeating monsters, needing only 1,000 XP to level up, and the Draw and Junction system left a sour taste in a lot of players' mouths, while others enjoyed it greatly. I was one of the ones who didn't enjoy it.

Regardless, most players whether they loved 8 or hated it state that it was not Square's best work. I believe to be justified in making that statement due to evidence I have seen in "Your favorite FF game" polls, FF8 received very few votes in many of the sites I've been to. It's not that no one likes eight (many do), it's just you'll find very few who claim that it is their favorite.

At the old ffnet.net board the peope complained about EVERY aspect of FF8, not just the gameplay. They all thought the music sucked, the characters were one dimensional, and the story was stupid. Also, almost all of them worshipped FF6 like it was God. -_-. In my expierences I've met a lot more rabid FF6 fanboys than FF7 fanboys. When I was in line for the Denver anime convention I was talking to this one guy about Final Fantasy and I said I didn't like 6 very much and this guy ahead of me turned around and was like "What did you say? you don't like FF6?" I thought he was going to beat me up  Anyway, I like the final fantasy games in this order...

7
8
9
10-2
5
10
1
4
6
2

I have not yet played Chronicles, Tactics, 3, or 11.

Play FF Tactics, you don't know what you're missing out on.

I too think FF7 is a tad overrated. I didn't like the characters THAT much. (Clud...that little prick. x_X; ) The story wasn't THAT great. The only music track I really liked was One Winged Angel. And ontop of it all, I've been ripped to shreds in the past for not bowing down to FF7 as the god of all Final Fantasies.

But hey, the entire FF series is becoming highly overrated.

I liked FF8 and loved FF7...I HATED 6..SOOOOOO SLOOOOWWWW!!! to me FF7 seems to get more anime-esque and I think thats why people didnt like it...

Classic is in the eye of the beholder. The SNES games are overr-rated. And 10-2 was good!
