Anyone get this game yet? It's really fun! And awesome
im in the level in the dark world, where the light crystals protect you.
edit: I was reading some of the older metroid prime 2 threads, and i recall skynes saying "another pathetic poorly done multi with a cack single play because all the resources went into the multi"
i gotta say, the multiplayer's quite fun! And the singleplayer rocks as ever!

I've just got the Ice Beam in the first one. That'd be no then. I would like to though.

Metroid Prime one is the shizzle. The second one will be ******* sweet too. I asked for it for Christmas, perhaps I'll get it. That'd be really nice

Yes! Metroid Prime 2 ROCKS! W00t!
I have beaten the game, but am now going back through it so I can get 100% of the items and therefore get the best ending.
I tried it on hard mode, but I just can't beat the last boss...the first Metroid Prime's "Hard" mode wasn't hard at all...but this one sure is difficult...whew!
I don't think I'll ever beat it on Hard...oh well! Gives me more time for Star Ocean and...
FINAL FANTASY 1&2 DAWN OF SOULS!!!
Mwa ha ha ha! I LOVE its EVILNESS! Look upon it, Mr. SP! It burns! HA HA HA!
*Gets whacked with a mallet and dragged off to the looney bin*

you beat it already? hah
i was stuck in a tunnel with only exits that were 2 doors requiring the light beam to open (double path) without any ammo, so i was stuck in there for like 20 minutes (while shooting that little thing to open up a light bubble to keep me alive) untill on gamefaqs.com somebody told me you can chaarge those guns without any ammo XD XD XD
well, i got the light beam, and im back to the normal side of aether, time to get the dark suit now

Glitch, that's a good idea. Not only is the first one awesome, but to make full sense out of the second one you really should finish the first one first. Metroid Prime 1 takes about 8-12 hours to beat, if I recall correctly (fyi).

I've already beaten the second one and I must say that it is harder than the first. I'm going on to Hard Mode but haven't gotten very far yet. I expect that the later boss fights will be quite a bit harder since the dark splinters took, oh... I don't know... about FIFTY non-charged shots from the power beam.
I say, bring it on.
On the multiplayer side, I have to agree with Mr. SP. The single player rocks as ever and the multiplayer is very fun. I think they could have put in another mode other than deathmatch and bounty, but on the whole, the multiplayer is just down right fun.

The multiplayer I'm not too keen on. I confess I was one of the skeptics about it and had a fear that Metroid was becoming a bog-standard FPS. Thankfully I was proven wrong. The 1player is awesome. A HUUUGE improvement on the original, and I should know I ate the first for breakfast. Pulling almost every sequence break possible for PAL.
I am loving the 2nd. I got 80% or so of the way through, then restarted. I don't wanna spoil it on myself
the light suit looks beautiful! I'm going to have to draw it! I MUST draw it!!!
I haven't played the second. But I'm about half way through the first one... I just beat the Phason golem thing (Name please? I forgot.) and am heading to get the Ice Beam (Or Plasma. I forgot that too. Someone? help?) on my friend's copy. I don't even have a NGC... but I'm gonna get a Revolution... eventually.
The major downgrade in Dark Echoes is the Beam problem. The only powerful beams use ammo. I perfer the old weapons. MIV.V is gonna have characteristics from all the Metroid games.

WHAO! Ressurected!!!!!
I love the Metroid games. The 3d ones are actually just as good as the 2D ones unlike Castlevania.

yeah, I beat Echoes. Fun game but... eh, I don't think I'll do it a second time. It's frustrating having to go back and forth between worlds.

(I so very much enjoy pwning my brother and his friends when they all gang up on me. They are no match for me. That doesn't really mean anything, but I did beat the first one, and they couldn't without cheats.)

I beat Echoes awhile back. Not sure if I would consider it as good as the first one, but it was still a very good game.

Wow.... I didn't know this was a year dead topic.... I just found it at the bottom of another Metroid topic. Oh well... There would be alot less clutter if ppl knew of all the great stuff that others let die... That's why I try to post in mine every now and then. That is... IF I want it up...

Got this awhile back. Now stuck on the Boost Ball boss (good gosh, how do I beat this thing?!).
I love the Metroid games. The 3d ones are actually just as good as the 2D ones unlike Castlevania.
The only really good thing I saw about the 3D ones was the final boss on the first one. Freakin' awesome...

The boost ball boss is the hardest in the game.

I found the Spider Ball boss to be a lot harder, personally.

Oh ****!!!!! X(
Why aren't there any light spots in the freakin' arena?!

To make it harder.
However, each time the Boost Ball boss slams into a pillar, it'll reveal an Ultra Energy pickup. You can also blast the Inglets for purple and sometimes blue Energy pickups.

I know, but I can't manage to do enough damage to actually do anything to him before my life runs out. XP

Let's see...
You do have all the energy tanks you can have at that point, right? I'm thinking you can have as many as five energy tanks at that point (but it may only be four...four is the absolute minimum you should have at that point though).
Second, USE SUPER MISSILES. You probably are, but just in case. You can only hit him ONCE with a Super Missile before he becomes invulnerable again...don't waste missiles.
When you hit him with a super missile, go to Morph Ball form. It's a LOT easier to dodge him that way...plus you'll be set up to lay down some bombs for when he turns into the puddle form...it's also a lot easier to blow up Inglets with bombs than the Power Beam, too.
And that's about all the help I can give. ^^;;

you have to be fast. Shoot him when he's formed into an Ing Warrior. When he becomes a boost ball, double jump and watch where he goes. Once he stops moving and turns into yellow goo, turn into morph ball and run away, dropping bombs behind you.
