I been wanting to pick up a new game for my PS2, but I don't know what to get.

Out of these games, what have you played or heard anything about.

Ace Combat 5

Star Wars: Battlefront

Killzone

I have been thinking about waiting and get Call of Duty: Finest Hour that will come out on the 16.

Sorry Wing.....I play a LOT of video games for both PS2 and XBox, but apparantly not the same types of games that you do. The only one that I've heard of is Star Wars: Battlefront. I think I read about it in the Playstation magazine....

Good luck with your decision!

My brother bought Battlefront, and I have to say that I think it's awesome. He got it three days ago, and I haven't seen him play anything else yet. XD I don't know anything about Ace Combat 5 or Killzone. Call of Duty: Finest Hour is something that my brother will also be getting... I think.. XD;; If not, I'll buy it for him, because I know that he loves the series. X3

DDR--if you haven't already tried it it's a blast!
I'm a huge fan of the Jak and Daxter series, and with Jak III shipping tomorrow, you'll get to play all 3 fantastic games at once! Jak II is so far the best though. Has a lot of everything, lots of variety and a fantastic story.
Kingdom Hearts is another absolutely fantastic title--enough good things could never be said about it. I usually despise RPGs, but this one had a fighting style more similiar to the Zelda 64 (and WindWaker) system, which I loved. Awesome story, breath taking animation...all around a great investment.

Yeah, I'm not a real big fan of RPGs. Only ones that I do well are the battle or war RPGs. In saying that, I'm about to trade in Xenosaga and FFX, I llike the game, but I haven't beat them yet and I had one of them for two years now and other for a year. Sad I know that I haven't beating them but I just never do well in RPGs like these.

DDR is one that I will get down the road. I really want to play it, but I may get another PS2 just for it, since I don't want to have to take the game in and out, since I like to to try to play it everyday.

I will think about Jak III.

I'm more into fighting games, battle games, and sports games. The sports game that I have are NCAA 2005 football and NASCAR 2004. I haven't stop playing NCAA 2005 Football since it came out in July and now I feel that I need a break from it. THe NCAA football games are my most played game and I like this one alot, but I feel that I need something need, before I burn a hole in the disk from playing it too much.

I have been thinking of getting Need for Speed Underground 2 since I have the first need for speed game, before they did underground, but I'm not fully sure if I like it or not.

I now rule Killzone out now. But one thing about Star Wars battlefront, is it fun even if you don't play it online. I know alot of people told me that SOCOM II: U.S. Navy SEALs wouldn't be a fun game to play if you didn't play it online. To me, that is not true at all, I had a blast with that game and still play it at times.

In that case I think I can help you...I own a PS2 and those are my favorite genres :thumb: .

As for the games on your list...

Ace Combat 5 - Haven't played it, and I don't know that much about it. I suppose if you are a big fan of the series it might be a good buy (although there are other games that I would recommend more).

Star Wars: Battlefront - I own this, and it is an excellent game. I don't play it online, and it is still fun. You can also play 2-player split screen, so there is still a multiplayer option available if you can't play online. The game does a good job of recreating battles in the Star Wars universe, both from the prequels and the original trilogy.

Killzone - Every review I have heard says that the game is a disappointment, so I am inclined to agree with them. You are probably right to skip this one.

If you are looking for a good racing game, then I would suggest Burnout 3: Takedown. It is fast-paced (moreso than any racing game I have ever played), challenging, and there is a ton of stuff to unlock. Not only is there a ton of stuff to unlock, but you unlock things pretty regularly, so the game can get addictive fairly quickly. Burnout 3 is also not just a racing game. There are multiple modes, each with unique objectives. In Road Rage mode the object is to crash your opponents as many times as you can. In Face Off, you have to race against another car in order to win it at the end of the race. However, my favorite one by far is Crash mode. The object of Crash mode is to cause the greatest dollar amount of damage, i.e. by driving your car into a busy intersection, highway, etc. This mode is especially fun, because you can unlock all kinds of crazy vehicles like Fire Trucks, Buses, and UPS-style delivery trucks. On top of that, you can take it online if you ever get a network adaptor.

If you are looking for something with a little more realism, Gran Turismo 4 comes out this month ;) .

In terms of fighting games, you can't go wrong with Tekken 4/TT, Soul Calibur 2, Virtua Fighter 4, or Capcom vs. Snk 2 (if you are a fan of classic 2d fighters).

Edit- (Correction) Unfortunately Gran Turismo 4 has been pushed back to December, but that is still only a month away.

So, Burnout 3 is alot better the first burnout game. I have the first burnout game. I have Soul Calibur 2, and I like it. I have been a big fan of Street Fighter and the only SF game I have is ST EX3.

As for Ace Combat, I have Ace Combat 4 and love it. I have been pushing more on getting Battle Front frist before I get Ace Combat 5.

I just wanted to say thanks for all the help.

On friday, I pick up Ace Combat 5, since I have Ace Combat 4 and like it and all I can say with AC5 is, :wow!:

Just wish I could find the OST cd for this game.

I think I will get Call of Duty or Star Wars: Battlefront next.
