Gamer Guys and Gals:
I am planning to buy City of Heroes: Question? Definitely. I don't like wasting my money, and i haven't bought a game in years!! So here it is: What do you guys know about this? Has anyone played it yet? I would like to know. I hope you guys can give me a hand(and the keyboard) on this one.
PS: What do you guys know about Jedi Academy?

I heard from my friend that City of Heroes was really good, but that's all I'm saying.
Jedi Academy is awesome. It's an action game where you play as a Jedi, and you can use force powers and lightsabers to accomplish missions. But they messed up on Jedi ethics. A Jedi
WOULD NOT pick up a defeated enemy's blaster pistol/rifle and use it as long as he/she still had his/her lighsaber. >.< The game has a good storyline, and it's fast paced, though some missions do tend to drag on if you can't get them figured out.
In content, Jedi Academy is fairly clean. The game
does switch from third person action to first person shooter when you're using a blaster, so be warned. There is no blood, but occasionally you'll see a smoking arm/leg lying next to a defeated enemy if you used a lightsaber, but again, there's no blood.
All of the game's enemies are either dark Jedi, or mercenaries hired to kill you, so you're not attacking innocent people.
I hope the info helped.

i really loved city of heroes, the graphics are good, and the gameplay is fun, i dont like having to pay for it monthly, thats why i dont have it, but it was alot of fun when i was in the beta
jedi academy is very fun also, a nice single player, fun missions, and decent graphics,
and its starwars, that alone gets points!

concerning City of Heroes: what is a time card? it looks like i am going to need one as i am not allowed to have a credit card.
concerning Jedi Academy: i love this game. i definitely prefer the lightstaff to the dual lightsabers. and force drain is my favorite force power. you heal and you hurt the other guys.

i think you buy time cards from like ebgames or something, and they have a certain amount of hours of play on it, so when you get into city of heroes, it asks for the code from the card, then you can play city of heroes for that amount of time

i know nothing about city of heros. i dont play online games that require money on principle.
But I do have Jedi acadamy. While it is an alright game, It wasn't worth buying at full price, its worth 20 dollars , not 50. The game is kinda buggy, but thats look throughable if you enjoy the subject wich i do. But when you get to majorly liniar game play, and easily predicted storyline then you start wishing you didn't pay that much.
Not to mention some of the extreamly lazy things the developers did. Such as each charicter type has the same voice. last time i checked Rodians and Humans had different types of voices.
Some of the before mentioned force powers are cool. Such as the life drain. I enjoy a full leveled force lightning, it throws imps around like they were ragdolls. kind of fun. but then again others are basically useless.
Interesting ideas for the lightsaber combat, but its really not improoved over the jedi-knight games. its way to random. There is no skill involved whatsoever. Though you can set it to have slow down deaths. so thats kind of cool. They should have done dismemberment though. you can take a hand or arm off. But you put a lightsaber through someone, they tend to fall apart. And the wounds are cauterized so I dont see why they decided to leave it out. I could understand if their was gushing blood everywhere.
All in all Jedi knight is a rushed project, or they developers didn't care enough about it to put the time required to make a good game into it. I would hold off on buying it till the price comes down . Find it in the bargin bin for its true worth. Evan if you're a hardcore starwars fan like myself, you'll be disipointed.
