Wah?! Metroid is awesome. Not as linear as Halo, sure, but that makes 'em better!

If you prefer a more traditional FPS, Metroid Prime Hunters would be best.

It's not out until spring though.

I played the first Metroid Prime game and I thought it was pretty cool. As much as i'm anti-M$ (console-wise), I liked playing Halo 2. I will probably get the Revolution first because it will be the lowest-priced of the three and wait until the price of the PS3 goes down and get it. Now that the next-gen has officially begun, I'm going out on a limb and saying that M$ will go third-party by the end of the decade.
Simple arithmetic:
FF7 + World War II games = overrated
freedom + things we're lucky to have = taken for granted
manga + anime = a very happy person
Salvation + Jesus' Sacrifice = Eternal Life
a village - its idiot = a lot of smart people
(more to come)

Words of wisdom:
"Who's more foolish: the fool or the fool who follows him?" - Obi Wan Kenobi

"Sometimes Justice is a (insert item here)!" - Kato Kaelin

"You wouldn't lie to a judge with a baseball bat, would you?" - Extreme Akim

"For as low as you go, ask God to take you that high." - Tyler Perry

"I had the right to remain silent...I just didn't have the ability." - Ron White

"Your trademark is stupidity!" - Mr. T

"Your eyes can deceive you, don't trust them." - Obi Wan Kenobi

"If you can't be good, be good at it." - my uncle
(more to come)

Shout-outs:

Traditional? You aim and do so by touching the screen with a stick. How's that traditional?

Did MS actually make (good) games to begin with? And I'm not talking about second-parties like Bungie.

I doubt it. There are enough Xbox and 360 fans to ensure that isn't going to happen. Sega went third party because their systems had been failing miserably on the market. MS doesn't have that problem. I seriously, SERIOUSLY doubt MS will go third party.

And I'm pretty sure MS doesn't make games...

Kaemmerite is correct, Sega would have gone all the way if they could have survived financially. If any of the big three is going to be going third party within 10 years it would be Nintendo, which still won't happen but from a purely financial state they would be the only one.

Microsoft and Nintendo are primarily software companys and Sony is primarily a hardware company.

Would be, but yes, it's unlike for any of them. Main reason is that they're all BIG. Microsoft does all the computer stuff with XBOX just as a side, Sony does all the hardware with the PSs as a side, but Nintendo is ALL gaming. That's their purpose.

And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name's sake. And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. [color=Red]But he who endures to the end shall be saved.

you CANT compare halo with metroid! One is an FPS, the other is a First Person Adventure. The control scheme is TOTALLY different

You CAN compare halo with half-life/counterstrike though

They don't rush into things, a la PS2. They prefer to take it slow and make things work. GC/GBA connectivity was genious. It just didn't catch on as well as it could...

Well, I think that microsoft has thoroughly proven that they made online play "work".

Also, online play has been around for years. Supporting it was hardly rushing. Nintendo made a mistake. The GBA/GCN connectivity was ok, but it wasn't really functional. Most people don't want to buy an extra accessory to play a few bonus minigames. (The exeption to this was LOZ: four swords, that worked and was genious)

So far, Nintendo's current online service is ok. Although, it's far better than not having one, ala PS2. (Talking about the service itself, AKA XBOX live & Nintendo WiFi)

If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things."

It plays like a mouse and keyboard configuration. The method doesn't matter, only the gameplay.

Well said.
In actual fact, Metroid Prime is much more like Zelda than it is like Halo.

You can't compare GBA/GC connectivity to ONLINE PLAY!!! Online play is something with much wider appeal, and given the party appeal of most of N's big franchises, online play WOULD HAVE BEEN perfect for it... Not including broadband online play was stupid...

That being said, I'm not all that big on online stuff... I'm just talking about wide appeal.

Did't Microsoft learn anything from Sega? They got out the 360 too quickly! I predict it'll repeat what happened to the Saturn.

I doubt it. I don't remember people waiting three days outside stores or mugging people on the street for Saturns.
