Ok who here has played it. All i have to say its one of the greatest games i have ever played. The fighting system i can go on and on about cuz it rules so stinking much. The story also very well done. So who else is a fan?

I have heard that the gameplay of this game is very good, however, I'm staying away from it for the same reason as Orenji. I guess that would make me not a fan.

I only played the game for awhile (I beat the boss on ship; I think that was the first part). The only issue I had was that people ended up comparing it to RE4 for some reason I don't understand. I felt that RE4 was a much better game, and just never got around to playing it (God of War, I mean) in full for that reason (yes I know this doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Looking back, it doesn't make much sense to me either...)

Grub, telling me you got 130 combo doesn`t really allow me to picture it perfectly.
Let`s see...
What game has the most similar combat system?

This game is a FP hack and slash that explores one and only one theme: "How much is too much?" It's over-the-top in pretty much every "mature" category - from violece to sex. I think this game definately earns it's "Mature" rating and should probably be restricted 18+.

(For those who will start bashing my "conservative agenda" about this game, I personally own it and have played a lot. I'm sorry, you can't convince me that a game where you tear an enemy in half isn't over-the-top on the violence arena.)

When the video game reviews database is built, this will be the first game I review.

So it`s a Hack N` Slash.

I`ll just buy FMA 2 then (On last boss in the first).

I wholeheartedly agree. If a kid with his mom/dad walked up to me at a GameStop (I don't work at GS, for the record), I'd be *extremely* hesitant to sell it to them. This game should definitely be restricted to 18+, especially after the whole 'hot coffee' scandal. The center of the hot coffee thing was the graphic sex depicted in GTA: SA, and while the nudity in GoW is much more tame than GTA (but only in comparison), it should still fall under the same restriction.

yes i agree with alot thats been said. specially the 18+ thing it is very violent and like i said before there is nudity. but the violence does bother me and the nudity isn't like the base of like the story or anything so i am fine to look away till its over.

Nudity-wise... yeah. I was surprised at that one part early on in the game. You know, the bit in the boat at the Athens harbor. It totally did not need to be there. Aside from that, Athena's dress is sorta translucent, but that's a bit easier to handle because it's something an ancient Greek goddess might wear.
Violence-wise... the central theme of this game is rage. It's about being as destructive, angry, and mindlessly violent as you possibly can. But seeing as none of the enemies in the game have ever actually existed outside of mythology, it's kinda hard to feel bad for the creatures whose wings you're ripping off.
Gameplay-wise... it's formulaic. It all at once reminds you of Devil May Cry, Onimusha and Mark of Kri. But it's all put together pretty well so you don't really think about this while you're actually playing it.
It's fun. It's just not a thinking man's game.

For the same reasons why others strayed away from the game (not violence so much as the nudity aspect...), I will not buy this game or play it anymore. Not to cast judgment on anyone but myself, I got pretty convicted when I played it and saw the part on the ship bound for Athens. I was even more convicted when I kept playing it, so... no more for me.

As mindlessly violent and fun as the game is... I don't want nudity in my games at all.
