Actually the UMD disc isn't compatiable with any computer.... Sony and a few choice companies are the only ones with the UMB burners.

If you want to play MP3s on the PSP.... you hook the PSP to your computer via USB cable, then load the music or video onto the PSP memory stick. I think there one that holds 512mb.

Actually, Link, I haven't played many PC FPS's. In fact, I haven't played many FPS's at all. That's why Metroid Prime was so second-nature to me. The analog stick makes you move forward or back, and turn. You hold the L button to strafe. It was perfect (to me).

But, now I better understand why people are always asking how long it takes to get used to the controls for MP 1 and 2.

Two things:
One: Fanboys (and fangirls) are funny.
Two: It's all about the games. Give me a good gameplay experience, and I'll love you. Give me enough, and I will buy your console, and perhaps even buy your next console based on reputation alone.

Still, this is too funny. CB and Link, you guys are not only informed, and civil, but you're also great for a laugh. You guys were the only reason I read this entire thread. Thanks for holding down the Gamers Galore forum.

Yeah... I don't care about these problems... If my PSP has these problems, I'll trade it in. No big prob. I hate the DS... Trying to use that stupid stylus to control games... I hate that... Of course, neither system has games that I would buy yet. So, that is a moot point... I may get PSP JUST for some anime movies, since UMD's are REGION FREE! I can watch Japanese Discs on an american system, and play import games really easily... Yeah... This is shaping up to be good.

DS can bite PETA, which will be biting my burger. If I get a portable, it will likely be the PSP.

The PSP plays region free DVD's? Huh... I might buy one then for that reason only.

No, region free UMD's.. That doesn't mean you can watch a wide variety, but it does mean that you can get a lot of anime. Also, if the region 1 version of Advent Children calls Aeris "Aerith" or doesn't have a Japanese track, I would want to get it imported... I can do that with PSP... Only titles released on UMD, however... That will be limited, but will likely include things we can't get in other ways... Also, I'm not expecting many others to do it for the limited set of movies to be released on UMD, but just saying that's what I'd do.

Getting FF7:AC early would be nice, but I dont know if it would even include subtitles. Plus, importing games are too expensive (for me at least).

I knew all along the PSP was a piece of crap, this just confirms it. Even if Sony does fix these flaws, the PSP is just way too fragile for me to want to spend money on it. I'm just too anal when it comes to superficial flaws. Also, the battery life is way too weak. They say it's 6 hours for gaming, but that's not really true. It is if you are going to sit around and play tetris on it for those 6 hours. But if you're going to be playing an action oriented game or something that looks really pretty and moves around a lot like a racing game or a rpg, you're really looking at 3 hours, which is pathetic.

As for the DS's controls, they aren't bad. You get used to them, but I only got to play them for a little at my friend's house.

I'll decide which console I'll support, maybe both. DS has a lot of nice RPG's coming out for it, and the PSP probably will as well. However, even if you plan on buying a PSP take my advice:

Sony's first gen products are usually CRAP. Wait until it's been out in America for a month or two (longer would even be better). Remember how many first gen PS2's broke down? A lot. If you really must have the PSP as soon as it's released here, go for it. But you might be buying another in the near future.
