Bio Brother in legal troube because of trojan

My biological brother got into legal trouble because his information was stolen off his computer by a hacker using a trojan horse. His credit card, his contact info, his payroll schedule, even his SSN were all stored on his computer...
He got a bunch of calls from Lawyers saying that they were going to take him to court for opening fraudulent accounts and for other things... He may have to do a lot of fixing and even have to get a new SSN and credit card... We don't know how this could damage him now...
