Hey everybody i really need some prayer.
I am in a real tight spot. I am thinking about the joining the military, the navy, and I would just like anybody who reads this just to pray and make sure it is God's will. I want to make sure all my actions are that of God's and this has been something that He has opened up to me. To some degree I feel that this is were God is leading me. All I ask is that you pray God's will upon my life and that if this isn't His will that, that door will be closed. My mom is really having a tough time with this. I have the physical Wed. and Thurs. and most likely they will want me to sign up. Just if you get a chance during the day just say a quick prayer.

Whoa...that is the EXACT same thing the Lord called me to do several years ago! I'll share my own experiences so that perhaps it will help you determine whether you too are being called to serve in this way:
Back in 1997, I'd just graduated from vocational college and was living comfortably and contentedly, not really giving much thought to what I should be doing with my life. All of a sudden, I began to notice something...kind of like a small mental nudge...coupled with the crystal-clear instructions, "Join the Navy." I could almost see the words, as if they were written in front of me. The directions would seem to pulse in the back of my head, occuring when I was eating or playing online or watching TV or whatever. At first I dismissed it as a silly notion that came about from watching too much Sailor Moon; after all, I knew nothing about the military and never cared one bit about it. When the recruiters had visited my high school back when I was a senior, I laughed at the idea of joining and never thought of it again. But, as the days passed, that unusual little notion grew and grew. After a few weeks it'd become so strong that I was unable to ignore it. At that point I began to give it real consideration. I looked it up online and requested an information packet. A few days later I got a call from a recruiter, and everything moved very quickly from that point on.
Looking back, I know that God did indeed call me to join, as He had many important lessons to teach me, among other things. (I thought beforehand that it would be one big reason, but it turned out to be many smaller ones.) I think that perhaps I was meant to influence one or more individuals during my enlistment as well, but since I don't have contact with the vast majority of my shipmates anymore, I don't know how things turned out. All I know for sure is that He has made a real difference to me and through me; I don't regret joining one bit!
I really hope this testimony proves useful to you as you seek to confirm and follow the Lord's will. If there are any questions you have about the Navy (bootcamp, ships, etc.), feel free to ask! In the meantime, I'll be praying for you.
