CAA: Christian Anime Alliance

I would like to get closer to God like I once was so long ago. Any tips or suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

This is kind of vague, but a few things that help are:
- Attend church regularly
- Join a bible study
- Serve in the church
- Prayer
- Change your expectations of what God should be to what He is

If you provided a bit more info, I think others and I could help out a bit more.

I think prayer is the single biggest thing. Every time I read about one of the greats of faith, they always spend a lot of time on their knees in prayer.

After that, in no particular order, what drill said.

Closer as in being sensitive to him spiritually.

One thing I've learned from experience is that I feel closer to God when I don't keep Him at arm's length in my prayers and instead communicate, knowing He's my Heavenly Father and the "friend that sticks closer than a brother" (Proverbs 18:24). Knowing I could talk to Him about anything and not hold anything back really made a difference in how I view the subject of prayer. I can't guarantee it will work the same way for you, but I know it can help.

Just go out and love the world. Sojourn the world like a mystic or a monk.

The fact that you see a need and have a desire to be closer spiritually to the Lord is key. I will be praying for you!

Follow his commands, read the Bible and pray. And I will be praying for you!
